7 Vision Improving Acupressure Points

By applying pressure to specific points and making use of acupuncture, we are able to relieve pain and heal quite a number of illnesses. The magic in acupressure and acupuncture is in their simplicity, as they work by assisting the body in overcoming different health conditions on their own. Eye health and quality of vision can also be improved by recognizing the pressure points that affect them, as eye pressure is usually caused by pressure on the neck muscles that affect blood flow to the eyes. Whether you suffer from poor eyesight or teary eyes, these 7 pressure points will help improve your vision and prevent any other eye conditions from occurring:

1. Around the eye socket
pressure points for vision
To relax your eye muscles, reduce neck, back, and shoulder tension, and get rid of headaches, it is recommended that you massage your eye socket. Place your index finger and middle finger on your eyebrows and move them in a circular motion across the edge of the orbital bone. Do this for 5 minutes every day.

2. The third eye

Massaging this point will help reduce eye pressure and also prevent headaches and nasal congestion. This point completely relaxes the nervous system and helps you cope with stress more easily. Place your ring finger on the bridge of your nose, between your eyebrows, and press on it for 7-8 minutes. Alternatively, you can massage the area gently. While massaging or pressing on this area, look straight ahead, keeping your eyes either open or closed.

4. Nostrils
pressure points for vision
This point can help make your visions clearer, and at the same time prevent headaches and sinus issues. Place your index fingers on both sides of your nostrils and gently massage the area. Make sure your fingers are on the edge of your nostrils and press both points and the same time. Do this once a day for 5 minutes.

 5. The inner corner of the eyes
pressure points for vision
Aiding in clearer vision and relaxation of the eye muscles, this point is located beside the inner corners of the eyes near your nasal bridge. Using your index fingers, put pressure on the inner corners of the eyes. If you would like to apply more pressure you can use your thumb as well. Be very careful not to touch or press on the eye itself. Do this for 3-5 minutes daily.

6. Tips of the thumbs
pressure points for vision
According to Chinese medicine, the tips of the thumbs are directly related to the neck muscles. The neck muscles help nourish the eyes through blood flow that travels through the neck to reach them. It is recommended that you sit in a chair in a relaxed position and simply massage the tip of your right thumb using your left hand and then switch to massaging your left thumb with your right hand. Do this for 3-5 minutes for each thumb daily to see an improvement in clarity of eyesight.

 7. Tips of the big toes
pressure points for vision
The toes are also connected to the neck muscles and eyes, and massaging them can help prevent many vision problems such as allergy-related teariness. Just like in the point above, to massage this point sit in a chair in a relaxed position, hold your foot in your hands and press on the tip of the toe for 3-5 minutes daily for both toes. You can also try to walk on tiptoes – this helps improve circulation not only in the neck but throughout the whole body.

It's very easy to massage these pressure points, so it is definitely a solution you should try if you have problems with vision or your eyes in general. If you wear glasses you should remove them occasionally throughout the day to give your eyes a rest. Additionally, you can try to roll your eyes to improve their mobility and keep them fit. Furthermore, try to avoid being in front of the computer or TV for too long as this can cause unnecessary strain on the eyes.

Our fingers controls our emotions and metabolism too

The thumb

The thumb is responsible for anxiety and headaches. If you’re experiencing a nervous headache, softly clutch your thumb for about 5 minutes. Reflexologists say it will relieve the pain.

The pointing finger

This finger controls muscle pains as well as feelings of disappointment, fear, and embarrassment. Studies have shown that  patients with back and muscle pains felt better after a cycle of reflex therapy. Clutch your forefinger with your other hand for 5 minutes.

The middle finger

Pressing your middle finger helps if you feel annoyed, angry, or more tired than usual. Studies demonstrate that such an exercise decreases blood pressure and calms you down.

The ring finger

Negative emotions and sadness will go away if you softly clutch your ring finger for 5 minutes. Don’t forget to keep calm and watch your breathing.

The little finger

The little finger is responsible for self-esteem, stress, and nervousness. If you’re prone to diminishing your worth, you should really think about massaging it for 5 minutes. Try to think of something nice while doing it.

The palm

Press the fingers of one hand to the middle of the other palm. Massage it in circular motions, and inhale and exhale deeply three times. Reflexologists say the palm is the center of your feelings and emotions. Research shows that regular massaging of your palms helps prevent nausea, stress, diarrhea, and constipation.

Palms pressed to each other

This position is often used in meditation. It helps you concentrate and put your thoughts in order. By pressing your palms together you can improve your blood circulation.

Surya Mudra

Holding your ring finger with your thumb is called Surya mudra ( keep your other fingers straight). This pose will help you improve your digestion and metabolism. The technique is also used for low blood temperature and loss of appetite.

Top 8 tips to improve eye vision

Nearly half of our days are spent in reading text, working on the computer or staring at lavish LCDs.

All these leads to eye fatigue and eye related problems, which further causes diminished vision. Follow these simple tips by Ophthalmologist , to sharpen your vision so you can see your way to a future of longevity.

Tip to Improve Eye Vision

 1: Practice relaxation exercise

One of the simplest relaxation exercise you can do to your eyes is - place your hands together palm to palm and rub them together briskly creating heat. Place them over your eyes and allow your eyes to relax. Do not let light in. Do this whenever you have time during the day.

 2: Blink your eyes regularly

Constantly blinking your eyes is a very simple way to keep your eyes fresh and avoid eye-strain  Computer users tend to blink their eyes very less, thus it is recommended that they should follow the exercise of blinking their eyes every three-four seconds.

3: Stare at a distance

Most of the computer victims are a victim of far-sightedness (have trouble seeing things, which are at a distance). To correct this or avoid this problem, make an effort to stare something at a distance every 30-45 minutes, for 5 seconds. This technique will help to improve your focus of distant objects.

 4: Splash water

If you feel that your eyes are strained, go to the wash-room and wash your eyes thoroughly. Make this a daily habit. Splashing your eyes with water will help to relieve your eyes from excessive stress and make them fresh.

 5: Do '8' exercise

Practising '8'exercise will help to increase your eye flexibility. Start it by imagining a giant figure of eight in front of you about 10 feet in front of you. Now trace the figure of eight with your eyes, slowly. Practising tracing it on either side.

 6: Practice zooming exercise

Start this muscle straightening exercise by sitting in a comfortable position. Stretch out your arm with your thumb in the hitch-hike position Focus on your thumb as your arm is outstretched. Now bring your thumb closer to you, focussing all the time, until your thumb is about 3 inches in front of your face. Now move your thumb away again until your arm is fully outstretched. Keep practising this exercise for few seconds.

7: Take an early walk

Get up early and go for a walk. This technique will make your eyes fresh and relaxed. Besides, it will also get sufficient sunlight.

8: Don't make your eyes depended on glasses

Spectacles are just a great fix for your deteriorating vision power. It does not improve or fixes your eyesight. Thus, don't depend on your glasses too much.

OSTEOARTHRITIS ? SOME EXERCISES FOR YOUR HANDS AND FINGERS

1) Make a Fist

Hand and finger exercises can help strengthen your hands and fingers, increase your range of motion, and give you pain relief. Stretch only until you feel tightness. You shouldn't feel pain. Start with this simple stretch:

Make a gentle fist, wrapping your thumb across your fingers.
Hold for 30 to 60 seconds. Release and spread your fingers wide.
Repeat with both hands at least four times.

2) FINGER STRETCH

Place your hand palm-down on a table or other flat surface.
Gently straighten your fingers as flat as you can against the surface without forcing your joints.
Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and then release.
Repeat at least four times with each hand.

3) CLAW STRETCH

Hold your hand out in front of you, palm facing you.
Bend your fingertips down to touch the base of each finger joint. Your hand should look a little like a claw.
Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and release. Repeat at least four times on each hand.

4) FOR STRONGER GRIP

This exercise helps to open door knobs and hold things without dropping them.

Hold a soft ball in your palm and squeeze it as hard as you can.
Hold for a few seconds and release.
Repeat 10 to 15 times on each hand. Do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions. Don't do this exercise if your thumb joint is damaged.

5) FOR STRONGER FINGER MUSCLES
This exercise  strengthens the muscles of your fingers and thumb. It can help you turn keys, open food packages, and use the gas pump more easily.

Pinch a soft foam ball or some putty between the tips of your fingers and your thumb.
Hold for 30 to 60 seconds.
Repeat 10 to 15 times on both hands. Do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions. Don't do this exercise if your thumb joint is damaged.

6)  FOR  FLEXIBILITY OF THE FINGERS

Place your hand flat, palm down, on a table or other surface.
Gently lift one finger at a time off of the table and then lower it.
You can also lift all your fingers and thumb at once, and then lower.
Repeat eight to 12 times on each hand.

7) THIS EXERCISE IS FOR THE THUMB

Strengthening the muscles of your thumbs can help you grab and lift heavy things like cans and bottles.

Put your hand flat on a table. Wrap a rubber band around your hand at the base of your finger joints.
Gently move your thumb away from your fingers as far as you can.
Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and release.
Repeat 10 to 15 times with both hands. You can do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions.

8) FLEXING YOUR THUMB
Start with your hand out in front of you, palm up.
Extend your thumb away from your other fingers as far as you can. Then bend your thumb across your palm so it touches the base of your small finger.
Hold for 30 to 60 seconds.
Repeat at least four times with both thumbs.

9)TOUCHING THE THUMB WITH THE FINGERS
This exercise helps increase the range of motion in your thumbs, which helps with activities like picking up your toothbrush, fork and spoon, and pens when you write.

Hold your hand out in front of you, with your wrist straight.
Gently touch your thumb to each of your four fingertips, one at a time, making the shape of an "O."
Hold each stretch for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat at least four times on each hand.

10) STRETCHING THE THUMB
Hold your hand out, palm facing you. Gently bend the tip of your thumb down toward the base of your index finger. Hold for 30 to 60 seconds. Release and repeat four times.
Hold your hand out, palm facing you. Gently stretch your thumb across your palm using just your lower thumb joint. Hold for 30 to 60 seconds. Release and repeat four times.

11) WARM HANDS BEFORE STARTING THE EXERCISES
If your hands and fingers feel painful and stiff, try warming them up before you exercise. This can make it easier to move and stretch. Use a heating pad or soak them in warm water for about five to 10 minutes. Or, for a deeper warmth, rub some oil on your hands, put on a pair of rubber gloves, and then soak them in warm water for a few minutes.

12) CLAY MODELLING HELPS GREATLY
Playing with putty or clay is a great way to increase the range of motion in your fingers and strengthen your hands at the same time. And it won't even feel like exercise. Just follow the kids' lead -- squish the clay into a ball, roll it into long "snakes" with your palms, or use your fingertips to pinch spikes on a dinosaur.

AT FIRST, YOU'LL FEEL A SLIGHT DISCOMFORT AROUND YOUR THUMB. IGNORING THIS WILL LEAD TO THE DIGIT SWELLING.

SOME TIPS TO GET RELIEF, BUT IF THE PAIN PERSISTS, SEE A SPECIALIST.

1) THUMB BENDING- BEND YOUR THUMB OUTWARDS APPLYING RESISTANCE UNTIL YOU FEEL THE STRETCH OR PULL.

2) THUMB ROTATION- ROTATE YOUR THUMB IN BOTH CLOCKWISE & ANTI-CLOCKWISE DIRECTIONS TO LOOSEN THE JOINT & RELIEVE PAIN.

3) HOT FOMENTATION- TREAT YOUR ACHING THUMB TO HOT WATER FOMENTATION TO INCREASE BLOOD CIRCULATION & HELP THE JOINT MUSCLES TO RELAX. ADD 1 TEASPOON OF EPSOM SALTS IN A SMALL VESSEL OF HOT WATER, SOAK A TOWEL IN THE SALINE WATER, SQUEEZE  OUT EXCESS WATER & PLACE THE TOWEL ON AFFECTED AREA. REPEAT 5 TIMES.

4) SAFETY WRAP- TO AVOID ANY PRESSURE ON OUR ACHING THUMB, WRAP IT IN A BED OF SOFT COTTON AT NIGHT.

5) TAKE A BREAK- STOP DOING WHAT MAKES YOUR THUMB HURT. TAKE TIME OFF FROM YOUR DAILY ROUTINE OF TEXTING. THIS IMPORTANT PAUSE WILL ALLOW THE THUMB TO START HEALING. OTHERWISE SURGERY MAY BE REQUIRED & THAT DOESN'T GUARANTEE A CURE FOR THE PROBLEM EITHER.
