Life’s 11 Principles, really worth giving a thought to these.

No one in this world lives life exactly like you do. You are unique in that your experiences and choices have shaped you into who you are today, and no one else has been through the exact same experiences. Despite that, there are certain universal truths about life that we cannot deny. You may know some of them, but whether you do or not, it’s good to have a proper list that you can read and share with the people you care about.
1. Growth Is Almost Always Accompanied by Pain
Be patient when you’re going through hardships, because one day that pain you’re experiencing will show its meaning. People who have the power to succeed in the long run are those who have used life’s bricks to lay the foundation for growth. Don’t be afraid to break from time to time, nor to fall apart, because those moments are the ones that will also present you with the best opportunities to grow and rebuild yourself.
2. Only You Know What You’re Capable Of
Unless there’s a person out there who can stare directly into your heart and soul, and see your strength and desires, no one can tell you who you are and what you’re capable of. Others may know what they can and cannot accomplish, but they can’t apply the same standards to you. Furthermore, if you remember and maintain this attitude, you just might surprise yourself.
3. True Beauty Is Internal
Only when you truly know someone, do their physical traits fade away. You begin to feel the person’s energy, recognize their scent and can appreciate their wit. You see that person’s essence and not the envelope it resides in. This is why you cannot fully love someone based solely on their appearance. You may feel desire, or be charmed by a person, but we can only truly love him/her once we get to know them.
4. You’re Always a Student
At every stage in your life you will be presented with new lessons, and will have something new to learn. Every bad experience can teach you how to avoid it in the future, or cope with it if need be. Every good experience can teach you how to preserve it and extend it. As long as you follow your heart and never stop learning life’s lessons, you’ll never become truly old, but evolve and grow.
5. Your Love Creates Your Happiness
Your happiness is a direct result of the love you give the world. When you love, you aspire to be a better person. When you become a better person, everything around you becomes better than how it was in our youth. Love is our teacher: As adults, love is the foundation we must live by. In our old age, love is our sweetest memory. Love creates our happiness.
6. The Respect You Give Is the Respect You Get
You can’t demand respect, nor convince someone to respect you by saying what they want to hear. Respect is earned by listening to others, acknowledging their feelings and respecting them as you would like them to respect you. Be kind and respect everyone, even those who don’t respect you back – not because they deserve it, but because you do.
7. Negativity Is Poison for the Soul
Don’t let negativity and unwanted drama lead you astray from your path of becoming a better person. Focus on the here and now, life is too short and your time is too precious to be wasted on trivial matters. When you decide to put your life on track again, the answers to your questions will present themselves on their own.
8. Your Health Is Your Life
No matter what size and shape it is, your body is the most important tool you’ll ever have. The way you treat your body will directly affect the quality of your life. Exercise to be in shape, not to lose weight. Eat well to nourish your body, not because you’ll be thinner. Go for a jog, a swim, a bike ride – it doesn’t matter, just get some exercise, your body will thank you. A healthy body is an energetic body, and an energetic body is an energized mind.
9. Letting Go Is Part of Moving On
You’ll never get what you truly need if you stay attached to things you ought to let go of. Sometimes we love, then we fight, and then we learn to let go, and that’s perfectly fine. If you want to take your life’s proper course, you need to learn to let go.
10. The Here & Now Is a Gift
It’s not called “the present” for naught. Your whole life has led you to this very moment, right now. Think about it for a second, everything you’ve been through and experienced, every challenge you’ve overcome, every fall you stood up from, all of them have led you to this moment in time. This moment is priceless, so don’t lose it.
11. Your Choices Shape Your Life
Every day, we are presented with choices. We can appreciate what we have, choose to give ourselves time, choose to do something that will make us smile, choose to be excited, choose to laugh, choose to spend time with people who make us feel good, choose to pursue our goals, and more. Make a choice every morning what your day will be like. This choice is the toolbox that will help you live the life of your dreams. Just remember to choose.

Ice Therapy Works Wonders for Your Skin's Health & Beauty

For better or worse, your face is the first thing the world notices about you. It’s for this reason that I invest so much (too much!) time ensuring I look my best by making use of expensive skin care products. I always thought this was a wise investment, but I have recently discovered a method that’s even better, easier and cheaper: cryotherapy
Not only is cryo or ice therapy relaxing and therapeutic it will also improve your skin by rejuvenating it and making it look healthy and radiant again. Whether you opt for green tea, cucumber or other novel cubes, all you really need for cryotherapy is plenty of ice.
Important Information About Ice Therapy:
•    Make sure your face is clean before beginning.
•    Always wear gloves when holding ice cubes, in order to protect your hands.
•    Never let ice make direct contact with your skin. Avoid this by covering the ice with either a soft cloth or plastic bag.
•    Do not apply any ice packs to your body for longer than 1 hour, otherwise, you are at risk of skin burns.
•    You can gain even more skin benefits by making cucumber, green tea, horsetail tea or garlic ice cubes.

The following 6 tips will work best when combined with both regular exercise and a good, healthy diet:
1. Make Your Skin Smoother Try this simple tip in the evenings or before you go to sleep: after washing your face, fill up a plastic bag with some ice, then use it to massage your face and neck for approximately three minutes. You should see results in a matter of moments, with your skin becoming smoother and fresher. This will also help you sleep better and even help prevent wrinkles.
2. Banish Acne
Ice therapy is a terrific method for clearing your skin of acne. To do this, first, wash your face as normal. Then wrap one ice cube up in a napkin or soft cloth. Press this gently against your spot or troubled area for between three and five minutes. You’ll be stunned by the results.
3. Prevent and Reduce Wrinkles Massage your face daily, perhaps before applying makeup, for around one minute to improve blood circulation to your facial skin. The increased circulation is known to prevent premature aging and wrinkling.

4. Shrink Open Pores
If your pores are too opened out, try this ice therapy method. Simply rub a covered ice cube onto your face for two to three minutes. If you repeat this daily, you should notice your pores shrinking after a few days have passed.
5. Get Rid of Puffy Eyes We get puffy eyes for many reasons, but the most common is through crying. To banish the tell-tale effects of this wrap 2 ice cubes in cloth pieces and place them over your closed eyes. Now carefully massage the inflammations for two minutes, making slow, circular motions.
6. Fight Stomach Fat
For a home-made alternative to expensive cryotherapy sessions, try this fat-burning massage. Put an ice pack onto your stomach for 15 minutes, then take it away for three minutes. Repeat this for up to an hour (remembering that an hour is the upper limit). Ice actually turns white fat cells into brown cells. These brown fat cells are more easily and speedily burned by your natural metabolic processes

Body shaming affects your mental health

Body shaming, as the name suggests, is shaming someone for their body shape or body type. It is a modern term recently coined and talked about, but body shaming in practice has existed for a very long time.

People have a definite notion of “beauty” which defines standards of skin colour, body dimensions, hair length, or the kind of clothes someone should or should not wear. People are always too thin, too fat, too tall, too short, too dark, or too fair for the society, and it has repercussions that are not even realised in everyday life. Body shaming affects mental and physical health in surprising ways- both for the person who is body shaming and the one who is being body shamed.

Body-shamers do not spare anyone- be it celebrities or normal people. A famous actress has been fat-shamed on Instagram time and again. Hollywood celebrities also underwent the wrath of body shaming on social media. Both men and women are body shamed, but according to a 2016 study, women report consistent levels of body shaming while men start to report feeling more confident as they age.

Threat to the mental health of both the shamer and the shamed

What body-shamers do not understand is that this practice stems from a problem with their outlook and perspective, which could also be the reason for a mental disorder for themselves, not just for people who are being shamed. A body shamer may end up criticising his/her own appearance and have trouble accepting their own body for what it is. This may lead to a low self-esteem and self-confidence and they may have to pay the price for this by professional or personal failures. Similarly, when they body shame other people, the person being shamed might believe their remarks about their body which may affect them in ways where their confidence is shattered.

Body shaming can lead to mental health issues

If body shaming is too frequent or has more impact due to any reasons, it may also lead to anxiety, depression, and social isolation. People with anxiety tend to overthink everything, and when it comes to remarks about their bodies, it is no different. Constant negative remarks may make people anxious to the extent that they suffer from panic attacks and depression phases.

Body shaming can lead to eating disorders

Body shaming has been reported to lead to eating disorders like anorexia where a person starves themselves obsessively to lose weight if they are too fat, according to the conventional standard, or bulimia, the opposite, where a person eats obsessively to gain weight if they are too skinny. Anorexia can lead to dehydration, constipation, undernourishment, bloating, and even irregular menstrual cycles. Bulimia is also reported to lead to similar effects.

Staying fit and healthy is one thing, but trying to fit into standards of other people that are defined by unreal parameters can lead to an even unhealthier life and body - physically, mentally, and socially.

10 Beauty Habits You'll Be Thankful You Adopted

There’s a lot more to beauty than just good genetics. In fact, much of it is down to adopting good habits, such as drinking a glass of water, or religiously following a multi-step skincare system. The cumulative effects of such good habits can only serve you in good stead in the future. Here are 10 useful beauty habit that you’ll be glad you took up:

1. Keep your feet above your head
Lie down, facing upward, and lean your legs against a wall while you’re on the phone or doing a face mask. This habit can help you to avoid varicose veins when you get older. In addition, it helps blood from your legs flow into your body without also having to overcome the force of gravity. It’s a great way of giving your veins a rest.
2. Use SPF all year round
Although doing so might seem odd, applying sunscreen to your skin all the way throughout the year is a really good habit to adopt. That’s because the sun’s radiation affects your skin regardless of whether it’s spring, summer, fall or winter. Various studies have shown that those who apply sunscreen daily age 24% more slowly than those who do not.
3. Take care of the skin on your neck
Did you know that the skin on your neck is as vulnerable as the skin on your eyelids? In fact, the neck is often the place that ages first. This is especially true for people that sleep horizontally, or on high pillows. Consider your neck to be part of your face, and make sure that you moisturize it in just the same way too.
4. Carry a bottle of water with you
Keep a reusable water bottle with you at all times, and use it. Keeping hydrated is absolutely one of the best things you can do to stave off aging.
5. Sleep on smooth pillowcases
Silk or satin pillows can do wonders for your skin when compared to cheaper ones. If you don't own silk or satin pillows, it's a good idea to invest in some. Their slippery surfaces will minimize friction and make your hair and face look fresher.
6. Don’t wear hairbands that are too tight
You should never tie your hair up too tight because doing so damages its structure and makes it brittle. Try using spiral hair ties instead, and if you really must wear your hair up, make sure that you don't tie it up too tight!
7. Follow the 2/30 rule
This one is super simple - spend two hours watching TV, then half an hour exercising! The theory goes that people who watch TV for more than two hours each day are more prone to eating junk food, so this rule aims to reduce your susceptibility to eating such food. Getting into this habit will prevent you from gaining weight and give you more time to enjoy any hobbies you may have.
8. Use floss and mouthwash
Since we were young, we've been taught to brush our teeth twice a day, but that that's not really enough for keeping your teeth healthy and your smile white. Make sure you use mouthwash and dental floss to supplement your brushing - it'll keep your teeth beautiful!
9. Hold your smartphone at eye level
Holding your smartphone at eye level will help to prevent wrinkles that would accumulate if you're constantly bending your neck to look at a smartphone or book. Simple, but effective.
10. Talk on the phone with a headset
Smartphones tend to have 18 times the amount of bacteria that a flush handle on a toilet in a public bathroom has. Try using your smartphone on loudspeaker, with a headset or alternatively, make sure that you clean it with wipes every single day.

Beauty benefits of egg white

Egg white is basically an albumen contained within an egg. It is highly enriched with protein, vitamin and minerals which are fundamental in the body. Apart from their nutritious benefits, egg white is also associated with amazing beauty benefits by keeping the face smooth.

Here are beauty benefits of egg white
Reduce wrinkles
Wrinkles are caused by many factors like aging, poor lifestyle, exposure to sunlight and so on. Egg white provides you with a smooth skin by removing all wrinkles.
In a bowl, add the egg white, a tablespoon of wheat flour and honey then mix them to form a mixture paste. Afterwards, wash your face with warm water and mild soap. Apply the paste on your face( on wrinkles areas). Dab the paste continuously for 10 minutes. Wash it off and dry your face with a clean towel. Then apply a moisturizer on your face. This should be done daily till the wrinkles dissipate.

Moisturize the face
A white egg has moisturizing properties hence keeps the face moist free of dryness.
Into a bowl, add egg white, a tablespoon of olive oil and honey, then mix them. Wash your face with warm water and mild soap as mentioned earlier. Then dab the mixture continuously on the face for 10 minutes. Afterwards, wash it off the face with warm water. Use a cotton wool to dry the face. If you want, you can apply moisturizer.
Apply it once a week for two weeks.

Removing dark spots
They are said to remove spots caused by exposure to sunlight.
Into a bowl, add egg white, 2 and a half tablespoon of lemon juice and honey respectively. Mix them and mask it on a clean, dry face for 15 minutes. Thereafter, wash it off your face with warm water.
Apply it daily till you note a positive result.
