Joint pain, especially in the knees, is a blight on your day. Whether caused by arthritis, injury, or repetitive stress, your joints are so critical to every movement you make that it is near impossible to feel comfortable. Painkillers, either OTC or doctor prescribed, can help. But these come with a host of side effects that may just be swapping one pain for another.

But what if there was a natural remedy you could sip on throughout the day? Get ready, because we have not one, but nine different beverages that can help wipe out your pain without any side effects.

9 Drinks to Eliminate Knee and Joint Pain Naturally

Joint pain, especially in the knees, is a blight on your day. Whether caused by arthritis, injury, or repetitive stress, your joints are so critical to every movement you make that it is near impossible to feel comfortable. Painkillers, either OTC or doctor prescribed, can help. But these come with a host of side effects that may just be swapping one pain for another.

But what if there was a natural remedy you could sip on throughout the day? Get ready, because we have not one, but nine different beverages that can help wipe out your pain without any side effects.

It all comes down to reducing inflammation, which is the ultimate source of most joint discomfort. When you consume anti-inflammatory substances in liquid form, it has the added benefit of improving hydration in your body. Getting enough to drink is critical for keeping joints lubricated and blood flow healthy.

We’re getting thirsty, so let’s dive into the list. Which one will you be trying first?

1. Water
Let’s start with the basics. Our bodies are made up of about 70% water, so when we’re dehydrated, it reduces the cushioning that your joints rely on to work smoothly. A lack of sufficient water also means that your bod will be less capable of flushing out the toxins that can cause inflammation.

If you are experiencing joint pain, aim for about 2 liters per day of freshly filtered tap water. Don’t bother with fancy vitamin water – chances are that you’ll just pee out all of the extra stuff they put in, plus they typically have added sugar. Bottled water can be okay, but it is often pulled from the same municipal source as your tap.

 2. Red Wine
Here’s a welcome surprise. Red wine is actually good for joint pain. Of course, alcohol in general can dull our senses and reduce pain that way. But red wine in particular contains something called resveratrol, a compound with powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

Enjoying a glass or two on a regular basis can actually reduce your risk of developing chronic joint diseases like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Just be careful not to drink to excess, as too much alcohol is dehydrating and will actually cause the inflammation you’re trying to eliminate. Also, you can get resveratrol from red grapes and red grape juice; it doesn’t necessarily need to be wine.

3. Tart Cherry Juice
Juice is usually discouraged for people with joint pain because it contains a lot of sugar. Sugar is inflammatory and juice contains no fiber to moderate the release of sugar into your bloodstream. Whole fruit is typically okay, because it contains a good amount fiber along with its sweetness.

An exception to the no-juice rule, however, is tart cherry juice. Studies have shown that it can reduce inflammation and swelling, thereby relieving symptoms of osteoarthritis.

4. Smoothies
Smoothies provide an excellent way to drink your fruit without missing out on the critical fiber. They are also great for sneaking in a few veggies – you won’t even taste ‘em. You should avoid putting in too much pure juice, but yogurt is a nice addition that makes for a smooth texture and offers some gut-healthy probiotics, as well.

Whatever helps you get your fruit and veggies every day is helpful for relieving knee and joint pain because produce contains a lot of antioxidants. Free radical damage is one major driver of teainflammation in the body, and antioxidants are able to bind with free radicals to neutralize them.

5. Coffee
The studies around joint pain and coffee are contradictory, with some indicating that coffee can increase the risk of developing arthritis, while others note that coffee seems to reduce the risk of gout (a painful form of arthritis that involves uric acid crystals in the joints). However, coffee definitely contains inflammation-fighting polyphenols.

If you already drink coffee, there is no reason to stop. Your morning brew may be helping to reduce your knee and joint pain. Just keep your consumption to 4 or fewer cups per day, as most studies find no ill-effects on joints before that level.

6. Tea
Even if you don’t care for coffee, you can still have a bracing morning beverage in the form of tea. Whether you choose black, green, or white tea, you will get a nice dose of antioxidant polyphenols to reduce inflammation in your joints. But not all teas are equal – the green variety has the most antioxidants, followed by white, and finally black.

Green tea has a particular polyphenol called epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) that can bolster and protect your bones and the surrounding cartilage. Sometimes improving the structure of your joints as well as reducing inflammation can relieve the pain you’re experiencing.

7. Ginger Tea
Ginger is a well-known anti-inflammatory. It is able to prevent the release of inflammatory molecules such as prostaglandin and leukotriene, as well pro-inflammatory cytokines, which are a type of protein found in cells. Ginger also contains a compound called gingerol, which not only reduces inflammation, but also soothes sore muscles.

Any beverage that contains ginger can help manage your joint pain. However, we recommend that you make it at home rather than rely on sugary ginger soda.

 8. Chicken Bone Broth
You may have seen a capsule or powder supplement for joint health called glucosamine and chondroitin. The stuff is popular with people who experience chronic joint pain, but it needn’t be consumed in pill form.

Bone broth made from chicken bones contains glucosamine and chondroitin as well because it is found in the cartilage within those chicken bones. Bone broth also fights inflammation and contains collagen, an essential element of joint structure.

9. Milk
Joint pain is not always just about the space where your bones meet up. Overall bone health can make a difference in your pain levels, too. Milk contains a nice amount of calcium to strengthen bones and help them maintain a healthy density. Studies have indicated that drinking milk may be able to slow the progression of osteoarthritis and even prevent gout completely.

But, if you have a dietary sensitivity to dairy, milk will more likely exacerbate your knee and joint pain rather than soothe it. In that case, try to eat more green leafy veggies and nuts to make up the difference in calcium.

Conclusion
Staying properly hydrated and naturally reducing inflammation are two of the best things you can do to eliminate knee and joint pain. You could always pop a pill, but with the negative side effects associated with all the major painkillers, it’s not always the wisest choice. This is especially true in the case of chronic pain, as the dangers of pain medication increase with extended use.

Instead, try these natural remedies first. You will be surprised by how much better you can feel with proper nutrition and hydration.

Researchers at the University of Waterloo have developed a system using harmless microwaves and artificial intelligence (AI) software to detect even small, early-stage tumours within minutes. The new inexpensive technology could save lives and money by routinely screening women for breast cancer without exposure to radiation. The research, Breast Tumor Diagnosis using Machine Learning with Microwave Probes, was presented at a recent conference in Yemen. "Our top priorities were to make this detection-based modality fast and inexpensive," said Omar Ramahi, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Waterloo. "We have incredibly encouraging results and we believe that is because of its simplicity. " A prototype device -- the culmination of 15 years of work on the use of microwaves for tumour detection, not imaging -- cost less than $5,000 to build. It consists of a small sensor in an adjustable box about 15 centimetres square that is situated under an opening in a padded examination table. Patients lie face-down on the table so that one breast at a time is positioned in the box. The sensor emits microwaves that bounce back and are then processed by AI software on a laptop computer. By comparing the tissue composition of one breast with the other, the system is sensitive enough to detect anomalies less than one centimetre in diameter. Ramahi said a negative result could quickly rule out cancer, while a positive result would trigger referral for more expensive tests using mammography or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). "If women were screened regularly with this, potential problems would be caught much sooner -- in the early stages of cancer," he said. "Our system can complement existing technology, reserving much more expensive options for when they're really needed. "We need a mixture, a combination of technologies. When our device sent up a red flag, it would mean more investigation was warranted. " In addition to reducing patient wait times and enabling earlier diagnosis, Ramahi said, the device would eliminate radiation exposure, improve patient comfort and work on particularly dense breasts, a problem with mammograms. It would also save health-care systems enormous amounts of money and, because of its low cost and ease of use, dramatically increase access to screening in the developing world. Researchers have applied for a patent and started a company, Wave Intelligence Inc. of Waterloo, to commercialize the system and hope to begin trials on patients within six months. Three rounds of preliminary testing included the use of artificial human torsos known as phantoms.

Humans Draw Energy From Each Other the Same Way Plants Do

This year an intriguing discovery was made. Apparently, we humans can absorb herbal energy from plants. This theory has been in the works for a long time by the ones who practice alternative medicine, but now this theory is supported by facts. This is also proof of the phenomenon that humans can share energy with each other.

Dr. Olaf Kruse recently threw the study proving that the algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii can actually not only produce oxygen through photosynthesis, it can also use another source for getting an energy supply. The other energy suppliers are actually other plants that are in the vicinity of the green algae species.

Humans are very similar to this even though it doesn’t look that way in the beginning. But, if you stop to think that we depend on other sources of energy like sunlight, water minerals, food calories, and even oxygen, you would quickly come to realize how a lot more connected we are with the other living species that roam this Earth.

The way this discovery came to life was thanks to Dr. Kruse who actually planted a sample of the species and threw an entire observation related to it. They put the sample in conditions where the plant couldn’t receive any of its regular energy sources.

The plant actually started trying to pull energy from plants that are single-cell and are around them. They were capable to do this because the green algae produced enzymes that are capable of producing enzymes that can absorb cellulose from other plants.

The fact that this plant is capable of digesting cellulose actually beats and contradicts every other study related to plants ever. To put it bluntly, some plants are capable of actually and literally eating other plants.

Dr. Kruse also went on saying that this phenomenon explains why people feel different and also respond differently while being exposed to different types of human energy close to them physically.  He also stated that basically, humans are capable of feeding off of each other, emotionally.

This study also explains why we need to starts taking bio-energy more seriously and studying it a lot more than we do.

People enjoy being in nature because nature is our main source where we get all of our needs. With this in mind, it’s important to know not to expose yourself to energy drainers. Here’s how to accomplish that.

Walk Barefoot

When the time comes where you feel completely drained from any energy source and you feel like you need to lie down and sleep, take your shoes out and go outside. Find the nearest hill, park, or mountain and have a nice walk.
If you don’t want to do this just sit down on the ground – Earth is capable of putting our energy levels in check.

Eliminate Negativity

Negativity has the ability to ruin just about everything in our life, from our mood to our health. It’s important to stay away from it and face it realistically when you have to deal with it. If you bottle it up you’re going to leave no space for positivity in your life.

Cleansing and Detox Bath

When these hard times come, it’s time to take a nice bath. But not any regular bath, even though that would work just fine too – takes some sea salt and put it in your bath. This is an ancient way of clean yourself from any bad energy and makes yourself feel better.

What most people don’t know is… detox is a proven method to eliminate unwanted and harmful waste from your body. Holistic medicine, has been supporting these facts for years.

Within a matter of weeks you can look younger, feel more alive, and trim weight off your body… without ever going on a diet, It's called Detox Bath.

Being an alternative therapist myself, I can surely say that we do tend to take negativity from people. Those who have a lot of positive energy, do attract people towards them. Not only plants give us energy, we can also give energy to plants, animals along with people for their good. This is purely based on science- that there is energy everywhere. So, we can draw energy from the Universe and pass it on to self and others with our hands ! One has to really experience it to believe in it. I've had physicians and cardio as my patient and students !

7 Ways to Help Eliminate Knee and Joint Pain Naturally

Joint pain is the worst. When you’re sitting, it throbs. When you’re standing or walking, it throbs and grinds. Our joints are the reason we can move at all, but when they hurt, everything hurts. Joint pain can be caused by overuse, strains or sprains, arthritis, or plain old aging.

But no matter the cause, you need relief. Your doctor will likely prescribe a course of treatment, but if your problem is chronic rather than temporary, you may find yourself on some heavy duty medication for way longer than you’d like.
Or perhaps you’d like to explore natural ways of managing joint pain before taking on the considerable side effects that come with pharmaceuticals.

We’ve got you covered, with 7 totally natural ways to manage knee and joint pain.

Use The RICE Method
RICE is an acronym for a series of actions that can help to both manage pain and reduce the inflammation that causes pain. It’s commonly recommended for strains and sprains, but can also help people with chronic conditions like arthritis.
RICE stands for:

    Rest
    Ice
    Compression
    Elevation

When you have an episode of knee or joint pain, no matter the cause, it is important to rest the area. Avoid using the painful joint for awhile and keep the affected area elevated above your heart as much as possible. This prevents fluid from building up and causing more swelling.

A couple of times a day, apply a cold compress. This can bring down inflammation and numb pain. A compression bandage prevents the swelling from coming back, but it can be a fine line between not tight enough and too tight.

You want to experience a certain amount of compression in the area, but not so much as to cut off circulation.

Tai Chi or Yoga

Yes, we just told you to rest painful joints, but now we’re going to tell you to exercise them more. Basically, you want to baby the joint through the most intense period of inflammation and pain, but then make sure that you don’t let the entire area degenerate.

As often as you can manage, engage in a low impact exercise routine to improve flexibility and strengthen the joints themselves as well as the proximal tissues.
Tai chi and yoga are both great options because they focus on the mind-body connection. Both are about mindfulness as well as movement. Not only are these practices helpful for increasing range of motion, the meditation aspect may even help you cope with chronic pain.

Weight Loss
If you are already at or below your ideal weight, feel free to skip ahead. But if you know you could lose a few pounds to be healthier, your painful joints are one more reason to start now. The more weight your joints must bear, the more strain and damage they will receive.
It’s never easy to lose weight. Our dietary habits are so ingrained, and food can be a great comfort in times of pain and stress. But certain foods can also make your joint pain worse, especially if it is caused by arthritis.
Try following an arthritis-friendly diet made up of healthy whole foods that reduce inflammation – the immediate reduction in pain can make it easier to keep it up while the pounds come off gradually.

Herbal Ointment
Pain relief creams you can buy over the counter include salicylate for pain relief.
The creams are relatively safe to use unless you have a sensitivity to salicylate (also found in various forms in treatments for warts and dandruff). However, they may be completely unnecessary in light of a discovery made by a group of researchers in Pakistan.
The study was published in the Pakistan Journal of Biological Sciences and showed that an herbal ointment made with cinnamon, ginger, Arabic gum (mastic), and sesame oil worked just as well as salicylate creams to control joint pain topically.

Willow Bark

Willow bark is sometimes called “nature’s aspirin.” That makes sense, considering that the pain killing component is none other than salicin, which converts to salicylic acid in the body. Willow bark extract can be found in capsules, tinctures, and teas, though some people prefer to simply chew the bark.

Don’t take willow bark if you are allergic to aspirin or are taking blood thinners. Otherwise, the potential side effects are limited and mild. While a few studies have determined the efficacy of willow bark for relieving pain, further research is in the works to learn more about a remedy that has already been used for over 4,000 years!

Ginger Extract
Ginger is a popular spice that is used in cooking, as a dietary supplement and in topical ointments (as we mentioned earlier).

Ginger is popular for relieving nausea as well as pain, and a study of arthritis sufferers found that using ginger in combination with prescription medication reduced pain further than medication alone.

The benefits are consistent whether you use it fresh or powdered, so we recommend making it a staple in your pantry. Ginger can be a lifeline when you’re experiencing any kind of pain.

Heat Therapy

Heat is another good natural painkiller because it relaxes muscles and helps keep joints from seizing up. Heat is often used in combination with cold therapy because the two complement each other quite well.

Cold is best used within the first 24 hours of a flare-up because it significantly reduces inflammation. Heat can then soothe residual pain and keep you as limber as possible.

You can use heat as often as you like but apply a heating pad over your clothes or a washcloth so you don’t burn your skin. You should also be conscious of how much your core body temperature goes up and stop when you start to feel too warm. For this reason, we don’t recommend using heat overnight.
Used together or individually, these 7 natural methods of pain relief for sore knees and joints can help you feel better and retain more flexibility. They also have many fewer side effects than pharmaceutical medication.

Even if you find you need a prescription, using natural methods of pain relief as well can reduce the amount of medicine you need. There is nothing to lose in experimenting with these methods to determine the right overall treatment for your joint pain.

Natural Home Remedies to Prevent and Eliminate Feet Odor

Together with bad breath, smelly feet is probably one of the most awkward afflictions as so many people associate it with being dirty. In reality, people with bad feet odor bath as often and are no less hygienic than those whose feet do not smell. Lack of cleanliness is not the culprit.

The number one cause of odor-rich feet, is bacteria that thrive in an environment that is moist and slightly acidic. People whose feet sweat in their socks or closed shoes inadvertently create such an environment as sweat is both moist and acidic. Home remedies for feet odor should, therefore, tackle the moisture, the acidity, and the ability of bacteria to proliferate.

To get rid of your smelly feet, try the following foot soaks as well as my other natural remedies for foot odor (including my special herbal powder to eliminate foot odor).

Foot Soaks to Get Rid of Foot Odor

Tea Soaks to eliminate foot odor

This is a common folk remedy for foot odor. It is thought that the high levels of tannins, or tannic acid, in the tea creates an unfriendly environment for bacteria.
Use 4 or 5 tea bags to a quart of hot water. Allow to cool, and soak feet for about 20 minutes each day.
Don’t throw away your used teabags ..

Soak your feet in saltwater

Many people have discovered that salt dries out the skin. If you dissolve half a cup of salt in a bowl of warm water and you bathe your feet in it for 20 minutes every day, it will pull some of that excess moisture out of your skin.

Use this only in extreme cases, however, as dry skin that cracks and peals is not much easier to deal with than smelly feet.

Alternatively, you can use Epsom salt which not only neutralizes odor and reduces sweat, but also helps to soothe aching feet.

Vinegar Bath for foot odor

Vinegar has surprising household uses and you can also use it to fight feet odor. Bacteria cannot live in an environment that is highly acidic, which makes vinegar the ideal solution.  The vinegar will mix with your sweat and lower its pH to a level where the bacteria struggle to grow.

Mix one 1/2 cup of Apple cider vinegar (ACV)  with 6 cups of water in a tub or large bowl. Soak your feet for 30 minutes once a day for a week.

Baking Soda and lemon juice soak for foot odor

I’ve already mentioned that baking soda is a powerful kitchen medicine that can be used as a natural remedy and you can also use baking soda to treat smelly feet. Bacteria cannot live in an environment that is highly alkaline. As baking soda is one of the strongest alkalis in your house, you cannot overlook it as a remedy.

Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda in 8 cups of warm water and add the juice of one lemon.
Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes, and then dry completely.

Put baking soda in your socks – One plan is to put some baking soda inside your socks before you put them on. By doing so, your feet will perspire into an alkaline substance that can neutralize some of the acid in the sweat. In addition, the powder will absorb some of the sweat and thereby keep your feet dryer than they would otherwise have been.

Other Natural Remedies for Foot Odor

Essential Oil Blend for Feet Odor

Collect some anti-bacterial and anti-fungal essential oils and make your own essential oil blend to combat smelly feet.
Tea tree oil (which has many medicinal uses), eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, sage oil, lavender oil, thyme oil, peppermint oil, geranium oil, and cinnamon oil all have anti-bacterial properties. You can also use grapefruit seed extract which is not an essential oil but it has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

Moreover, any blend that contains some of these will mask the odor and you have several options:
Essential oil foot bath – One idea is a foot bath that combines your favorite selection of these oils with water. Put a few drops of your preferred essential oil blend and a carrier oil in warm bath and soak your feet in such a blend for 10 minutes twice a day. It can clean the bacteria off your feet and it will make your feet smell great.
Topical treatment – Alternatively, blend some of these oils and dilute with carrier oil such as coconut oil or jojoba oil. You can carry it around with you as a topical treatment to apply whenever you think your feet are getting especially sweaty.
Essential oils and your shoes – Brush diluted oil blend over the inside that touches your foot. This will remove some of the smell and will combat the bacteria.

A Spicy Herbal Powder to Eliminate Feet Odor

Most households have antiseptic herbs and spices such as thyme, rosemary and sage somewhere in the kitchen. If you have some of these herbs, you can mix them in water as a solution in which to soak your feet. One tablespoon of dried herbs per three cups of water should be enough.

Otherwise, rub the diluted oil blend into your feet, dry them completely, and dust them with the powder blend before putting on your shoes. This double treatment will help to keep the bacteria away and will keep your feet dry.

You should also treat your shoes with this antibacterial herbal powder. When you take your shoes off at night, pour the powder blend inside them, rub it on the inside where your feet go, and leave the powder in them until the next morning. Even better, if you have two pairs of shoes, wear the second pair on the next day and leave the powder blend inside the first pair until the next evening.

More Tips to Eliminate Foot Odor

Use Sweat-Absorbent Socks

These days many socks are made of nylon because it is tough, lightweight, and elastic. It is, sadly, also traps sweat on your feet.
Cotton, on the other hand, absorbs the sweat and thereby takes some of it away from your feet. This will help to keep your feet dry and free of the bacteria that feed on sweat. Some companies make special sports socks for this purpose.
If your feet sweat a lot, you should think of carrying an extra pair of socks with you so you can change halfway through the day.

Pick Your Shoes Carefully

When you buy shoes, choose shoes that do not fit too snugly. If they are slightly elastic and open up a bit on the sides while you walk, a lot of the sweat and heat can escape. Alternatively, wear open shoes like sandals that do not build up so much heat around your feet.

If A Remedy Doesn’t Help, Look Inside

If you have tried all of the above measures to help combat foot odor naturally without success, your problem may need to be treated internally through addressing your diet. Simple changes that correct your pH, nutrient and hydration levels can be very powerful for an array of health conditions, including problematic foot odor.

If after seeing a naturopath or nutritionist you still have not been able to make any progress, it would be wise to book in and have a chat with your doctor about what further steps could be taken.
