Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Who doesn't like to see a smiling face. It is said that if you smile, then another person smiles and soon there will be miles and miles of smile just because you smiled. It is said that when we smile, we use more facial muscles and one doesn't get wrinkles easily ! Isn't that a simple way to keep wrinkles away and feel young !

When we laugh, we forget all our aches and sorrows. One must be like a child who can easily laugh at the simplest of things, like you see a beautiful bird or pretty flower or see a child's pranks.Laughter is very important for living and is a vital part of healthy living. It helps in relieving tension, reducing  stress, making you relax, and increases your happiness. Here are some ways following which you can bring more laughter in your life.

Laugh tries to bring back old memories, helps to connect with our friends and dear ones. As when we are with them, we recollect old funny instances and can share a hearty laugh.

When you wish to read a book, choose something which has some comedy or something hilarious than reading crime stories.  In the same way, when you watch TV, try to watch a comedy show or movie, where you can laugh your heart out. Isn't laughing better than seeing those serials, where a mother-in-law is always shown as the most cruel lady in the world !

Your best moments can be spending time with children, as the modern kids come up with something so hilarious. Like, our grandson tells his mother, when she is angry with him, " mother your face doesn't look nice like that". So, instead of shouting at him, she starts laughing. Children start laughing at such simple things, like I taught our grandsons, some old games we used to play. They picked the words so fast, now when they see me in Whatsapp, tell me let us play those games !

Try playing some funny games even if you're an adult- like musical chair with some good music playing. There, you start tapping your feet to the music's beat and start shaking your legs or body ! Then when others get out, you laugh like a kid as you're not out ! Try recollecting those old games you played as a child, which sadly is forgotten these days, thanks to modern technology ! We used to play with 5 small round stones.  One has to roll the stones, try to pick one, which may be very close to another, then you've to throw the stone up and pick another together !

Laughter is one of the easiest thing in life. Try to laugh at the slightest thing, then you'll realise that you are not stressed, feel a lot lighter, happy and healthy too.

Things You Need To Give Up To Be Happy

We’ve all heard the saying, “I’ll forgive but I won’t forget”. Only unconditional forgiveness can set you free.

It makes no sense to only partly forgive someone. When you don’t forget, you become bitter, not better. Anger and hurt is like a burning hot piece of charcoal in your hand. Only YOU get burned!

You must think of your mind and your brain as your inbuilt computer. We are human magnets and what we think, we attract.

Your brain does not differentiate between things you love and things you dislike, it believes that if you are thinking about it, you must want it. Be sure to use this skill to your advantage.

As a result, it delivers what you are thinking. It’s vital your thoughts always be in the positive otherwise what you most fear will soon be your daily reality. This is the last thing you want.
When you enter a search term in google, the result comes up. Your mind has the exact same capability and this is the reason that it is imperative that what you are searching is the good stuff!

Inner Peace is what we should all aim to achieve. We’re sure you know someone that looks like they are eaten out on the inside, it soon affects their outward appearance.

They look deflated and wizened up. This is usually at least in part to hanging onto things and not dealing with hurt and anger.

As the quote above from Tiny Buddha shows, you need to forgive yourself before you can forgive others. If you continue to relive the past, you will remain a hostage and never move on.

You have to break free. Life is a journey, mistakes are only challenges, they are not fatal. Learn from them and move on and be happy that you had the experience.

There are a number of changes that you can make that will bring unconditional forgiveness into being. The cleaner and clearer your life becomes, the easier it will become to include forgiveness.

Stress may harm memory

High levels of stress can block memory processes, according to new research on pond snails.
Researchers trained snails and found that when they were exposed to multiple stressful events they were unable to remember what they had learned.
Previous research has shown that stress also affects human ability to remember.
The new study, published in the journal PLOS ONE, found that experiencing multiple stressful events simultaneously has a cumulative detrimental effect on memory.
“It’s really important to study how different forms of stress interact as this is what animals, including people, frequently experience in real life,” said Dr.
“By training snails, and then observing their behaviour and brain activity following exposure to stressful situations, we found that a single stressful event resulted in some impairment of memory but multiple stressful events prevented any memories from being formed,” Dr. said.
The pond snail, Lymnaea stagnalis, has easily observable behaviours linked to memory and large neurons in the brain, both useful benefits when studying memory processes.
They also respond to stressful events in a similar way to mammals, making them a useful model species to study learning and memory.
In the study, the pond snails were trained to reduce how often they breathed outside water. Usually pond snails breathe underwater and absorb oxygen through their skin.
In water with low oxygen levels the snails emerge and inhale air using a basic lung opened to the air via a breathing hole.
To train the snails not to breathe air they were placed in poorly oxygenated water and their breathing holes were gently poked every time they emerged to breathe.
Snail memory was tested by observing how many times the snails attempted to breathe air after they had received their training.
Memory was considered to be present if there was a reduction in the number of times they opened their breathing holes. The researchers also assessed memory by monitoring neural activity in the brain.
Immediately before training, the snails were exposed to two different stressful experiences, low calcium — which is stressful as calcium is necessary for healthy shells — and overcrowding by other pond snails.
When faced with the stressors individually, the pond snails had reduced ability to form long term memory, but were still able to learn and form short and intermediate term memory lasting from a few minutes to hours.
However, when both stressors were experienced at the same time, results showed that they had additive effects on the snails’ ability to form memory and all learning and memory processes were blocked.

SOME TIPS TO FEEL HEALTHY

Life can begin at 50/60/70/80/90 or older, It is all in your hands and minds!

Many people feel unhappy, health-wise and security-wise, after 50/60 years of age owing to the diminishing importance given to them and their opinions. But it need not be so, if only we understand the basic principles of life and follow them scrupulously.

Here are ten points to age gracefully, make life after retirement pleasant, enjoy and treasure the elders years of wisdom and intelligence at its best.

1. Never say ‘I am aged':

There are three ages, chronological, biological, and psychological. The first is calculated based on our date of birth; the second is determined by the health conditions and the third is how old you feel you are. While we don't have control over the first, we can take care of our health with good diet, exercise and a cheerful attitude. A positive attitude and optimistic thinking can reverse the third age.

2. Health is wealth:

Taking care of yourself and your health should be your priority
. Thus, you will not be a burden to anyone. Have an annual health check-up and take the prescribed medicines regularly. Do take health insurance cover.

3. Money is important:

Money is essential for meeting the basic necessities of life! , keeping good health and earning family respect and security. Don't spend beyond your means even for your children. You have lived for them all through and it is time you enjoyed a harmonious life with your spouse. If your children are grateful and they take care of you, you are blessed. But never take it for granted.

4. Relaxation and recreation:

The most relaxing and recreating forces are a healthy religious attitude, good sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, love good music and see the funny side of life.

5. Time is precious:

It is almost like holding a horse's reins. When they are in your hands, you can control them. Imagine that every day you are born again. Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is ready cash — use it profitably. Live this moment.

6. Change is the only permanent thing:

We should accept change — it is inevitable. The only way to make sense out of change is to join the dance. Change has brought about many pleasant things. We should be happy that our children are blessed.

7. Enlightened selfishness:

All of us are basically selfish. Whatever we do, we expect something in return. We should definitely be grateful to those who stood by us. But our focus should be on the internal satisfaction and happiness we derive by doing good to others, without expecting anything in return

8. Forget and forgive:

Don't be bothered too much about others' mistakes. We are not spiritual enough to show our other cheek when we are slapped in one. But for the sake of our own health and happiness, let us forgive and forget them. Otherwise, we will be only increasing our BP.

9. Everything has a reason. A purpose:

Take life as it comes
. Accept yourself as you are and also accept others for what they are. Everybody is unique and right in his own way.

10. Overcome the fear of death:

We all know that one day we have to leave this world. Still we are afraid of death. We think that our spouse and children will be unable to withstand our loss. But the truth is no one is going to die for you; they may be depressed for some time. Time heals everything and they will carry on.

Regardless How Far The Journey Is OR How Capable We Are, We Do Our Best To Reach Our Goal. This Is Perseverance At Its Best .... Anonymous
