6 Easy Ways To Boost Your Willpower

All of us are tested every day. Sometimes it is a cookie tempting us from our diets or a warm bed coaxing us to sleep late and we are always forced to decide between what we want to do and what we ought to do. Self-control the same as a willpower is the ability to control emotions and desires, especially in difficult situations. Self-control is a limited resource that may be strengthened by the foods we eat. Laughter and bringing up powerful memories may also help boost a person’s self-control.
Some research also suggests that we can improve self-control by practice, testing ourselves with small tasks in order to strengthen our willpower for bigger challenges. Learning self-control produces a wide range of positive outcomes and you can handle any problem with strong willpower. Many studies have concluded that willpower can be strengthened with practice and exercise as it is considered to be a mental muscle. Here are some easy strategies which will help you to hold your ground- no matter what temptations are calling you in the opposite direction:
1. It is known that when our glucose levels get low, our willpower weakens. To keep it in needed high, eat regular meals that are full of protein and good carbohydrates, just like a sandwich of lean meat and cheese packed between two slices of whole-wheat bread. And remember never start a challenging task on an empty stomach!
2. After pursuing a goal always think ahead about what might interfere with your plans. Never forget that life is full of ups and downs and there always is a chance that your motivation may falter when they come up. When you have a fallback  it is more likely that you will accomplish your aims. Be sure for every step you take where you don't succeed in achieving your outcome there is a lesson to be learned.
3. Any-time you make changes in your routine, you are developing self-control. Try once to brush your teeth or open doors with your non dominant hand. When you have succeeded in making a tiny change, you can go on working accomplishing something more substantive. You should allow yourself to feel joy for every small accomplishment and after you will be more inclined to complete them and moving closer to achieving your overall goal.
4. Don't be afraid to ask when help is needed- it’s OK if you need some relief to keep you on track to achieving your goals. This can be difficult to accept as looking for this help and support can also be seen as ‘failure.’ On the other hand, seeking and accepting help from others on your journey can be both empowering and inspirational building even more of your motivation and willpower muscle.
5. Don’t forget to give yourself a break-Know that it is OK to take a break. Just ensure that it is an important break, something totally unrelated to the goal you are trying to achieve. Give your mind a complete rest and think and focus on something else. Changing gears for at least 10 minutes helps you to refocus on your task with greater willpower and determination to achieve your ultimate goals.
6. There are different kinds of thinking that aid in accomplishing goals – and each will help propel you forward in your professional or personal achievements. You can think about your goals in terms of how it will affect world’s future generations, people who will be motivating for those who have children. You can picture as well your goal in the context of solving a puzzle. This will appear to the analytical brains. The last way to concentrate on accomplishing your aim is to think of your work as one piece in a grander scheme which will contribute to another future higher goal.
It seems definitely challenging to try to stay motivated in our busy, distracting world. But using the techniques described above, willpower will come to your aid and help you to accomplish all of the goals you set to your mind. Apply all the above to help achieve your goals with your new life plans. Take the first step on your journey now! Good luck!

BE YOUR OWN INSPIRATION

1) Be your own inspiration- No one knows what you are "really" thinking or feeling. So why not be your own inspiration? Think about it - if you're the one who knows you the best then you're the only person who can truly evoke change and pin point what you want to improve.

Instead of looking to others for a spark or bode of confidence - use others as reinforcement but look to yourself for inspiration. Here are 10 tips to help you become your own inspiration.

2)List your goal and plan to achieve it- Write down the goal or improvement, now write out all of the big goals that you will need to accomplish to achieve it and then fill in the blanks by writing down the smaller goals/tasks that you will have to complete.

Writing it down on paper is like making a check list. You will feel a sense of satisfaction each time you are able to check off a task that you accomplished. Seeing the plan on paper will help you stay focused and the visual will help you not forget important to-dos.

3) Stop being negative! It's simple instead of focusing on the things that you're not happy with focus on the things you are satisfied with. You may not like your height, so focus on your amazing muscles. Look for the positive within every aspect. You may not like being short but at least you can wear heels and not tower over everyone. Find a positive to your negative and it will make life a lot easier.

You can apply this aspect to your daily life as well. Bummer - you have to stay up late to study for a test; soon you will have that degree and land the job of your dreams. Focus on the positivity!

Remove negativity and the question what if. If your thought process doesn't consist of the possibility that something will not go the way you want, then you will be a happier person. Disappointment is inevitable in life but it is a lot easier to adjust when you're not constantly preparing for a disaster.

4) Never give up- Next time you hear the two letter word no, train your brain to hear not yet instead. No is not a permanent answer and doesn't mean that something will never happen or change. No just means that it isn't going to happen in that instance however it will eventually happen if you continue to stay focused and remain positive. Determination is the key to achieving dreams. Everything happens for a reason, so if something did work out there's a reason and God has a plan.

5) Embrace your sadness-  Instead of falling into a pitfall - embrace your sadness and flaws. Even though it may seem like the world is falling from beneath your feet, keep in mind that everything happens for a reason and that this too shall pass. Everything that occurs in life will help you become the person that you are meant to be - so breath in your sadness and make the most out of it. Embracing something that is crippling or debilitating may seem difficult, but remember that your sadness plays an important part of your life just like happiness.

6) Learn to be humble- Never get ahead of yourself - stay grounded. Being humble will keep you from becoming blinded by success and selfishness; instead you will keep others in your thoughts and remember to be there for your friends and family.

7) Appreciate nature and everything around you- No matter how busy you get in life, take time to look around at your surroundings. No matter what it is: the beautiful sunset, the blooming flowers, the smiling couple that are so in love, the laughing child swinging on the swing and the person you're riding in the elevator with. Live each day to the fullest and soak up everything around you. Everything that occurs in your daily life moulds you into the person you are today and will be tomorrow. Appreciate life!

8) Dress to be happy for yourself- When you're dressed nicely it makes you have an extra bounce in your step and gives you an extra bode of confidence. Feeling good about yourself will help you stay motivated and give you the confidence that will help you take on the world. Aim to make yourself happy!

9) Ask What if? And not why not instead? - A dream according to Webster is something that fully satisfies a wish, a strongly desired goal or purpose, or a visionary creation of the imagination. No matter how you define it - dreams are not impossible. If you dream it up, then it's possible. Maintain the mindset, no matter how rough things may get, that anything is possible. Instead of asking yourself why not, remain focus and do things within your power to make it happen. What if you do this or that - your dreams could be within reach.

10) Discover yourself- You are in control of you. You're the author of your own book and whatever the next chapter has in store is totally up to you. Live a fulfilled life and reinvent yourself to reflect your growth. You're the only person who's in control of improving your life and yourself.

Workouts to fight obesity

Obesity is a growing problem among the young and seems to be growing every year.

Modern lifestyle habits like lack of physical exercises, eating junk food, irregular eating pattern, stress at work just adds to weight gain which results in obesity. Though losing weight might sound comparatively easy to the young, it is a Herculean task for the oldies.

There are three important factors for weight loss:

1. Diet control
2. Physical exercises
3. Self determination

Most of us follow diet control and an exercise routine, but it is vital that you are self determined. Self determination is what gives you that push to help you continue with the weight loss program and not give up.

In a weight loss program diet and physical exercise are two sides of the same coin. Diet is not the only answer to weight loss or vice versa.

Tips for weight loss diet
-Avoid oily, high calorie food and junk food
-Eat small quantity healthy food at regular interval, every 3 hours
-Have regular breakfast but do not overeat
-Always have light dinner

Brisk walking
Brisk walk 1/2 hour every day: Start slowly, but increase your pace gradually. Walking is the best way to start your weight loss regime. But it is important to engage yourself in a physical activity. But do not expect to lose weight over night, give it time and do not give up.

Resistance exercises

These are exercises that you can use with your body weight: For e.g. Push-ups, being overweight you may not be able to do it like a normal weighted person can do, so either you can bend on your knees or take support of the wall.

Use stairs instead of elevator: Walking up the stairs can also be a good exercise; this will help your leg muscles stronger.

Sitting exercises
Those with heavy bodies are putting a lot of weight on their knees. So the first and basic exercise one can start with is by sitting in an upright position in a chair, hold something slightly heavy in your hands and straighten your hands to chest level. Now turn right/left using your abdomen muscles without moving your hips. Do this at least 12 times each side.

Next up, sit in upright position and lean forward as if you are touching the floor. Make sure you do not lunge forward. From the forward position, come back to the sitting position. Use your stomach muscles to do this exercise. Repeat this 12 times.

Back in the sitting position, now turn your torso to right/left as if you are going to lift something sideways. Same exercise to your left as well. Do this for 12 times on each side.

Exercises at work station for weight loss
1. Avoid sitting for long hours. Get up and walk small distance every 1 hour
2. Turn to either side while sitting
3. Bend forward and touch your toes
4. Stretch both hands upwards.

The weight loss has to be gradual. e.g. It should be 10% less body weight in 6 months time. Such gradual weight loss program helps to maintain the weight after weight loss. With fast weight loss program there are high chances you may gain weight again.
