Turmeric helps from cold to dandruff to keep pests away !

Turmeric is one ingredient which Indians can't do without. We add it in all our curries, gravies, snacks. Unlike artificial colours, it is the best to get the golden colour in any food that you want.

During monsoon, one tends to get cold, cough and immunity is low. By mixing turmeric powder with jaggery and having those little balls,  daily before monsoon starts, it will boost your immunity and you wouldn't need any medicines to swallow ! About 1-2 tsp of jaggery mixed with 2-3 pinch of turmeric, roll into small balls and enjoy !

Ants- You know that ants gather foods before monsoon and they make their ways into your homes. By sprinkling turmeric powder around the places from where they make their way into your homes. It will keep the ants away, it will not kill them, it isn't a permanent solution, but works well.

Whitening teeth and strengthen your gums-  It may sound counter-intuitive, but turmericnotorious though it is for leaving stainshelps in whitening teeth. Mix a pinch (or less) of it with coconut oil and use the mixture as a toothpaste. You can also rinse your mouth with water and a bit of turmeric to strengthen your gums. Don’t do this every day though, as it does have some side effects.

Dark circles under the eyes-  If dark circles bother you, turmeric is the solution yet again! Mix a bit of the spice with honey and apply a thick layer under the eye. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and rinse with water.

Dandruff- I know most people are troubled with dandruff and would have tried umpteen different shampoos. Try this simple remedy- mix about 1/8 tsp of turmeric with coconut oil, massage into your scalp, wait for 15 minutes, before washing off with shampoo or shikaki powder.

Nose bleeds- Nosebleeds can be a sudden emergency in blazing summers. If that happens, and once you get the bleeding under control, drink water with a pinch of turmeric. (Pro tip: Rubbing an onion on your forehead also cools you down).

White discharge- For girls and women who frequently experience white discharges, turmeric is a wonderful solution. Start consuming more quantities in your meals and milk. You’ll see the difference soon enough.

Facial hair- It is most disturbing for girls and women to be bothered with facial hair. A simple remedy, mix about 1/2 tsp of turmeric pdr. with 1 tsp of rice flour and little milk to get a paste. Rub against the direction of hair growth well for 2-3 minutes, then spread all over your face, wait for 15 minutes to wash it off. You'll find your face is soft, blemish free and soon all the unwanted hair will disappear. ( you may add more of turmeric and rice flour, mix and keep in the fridge).

Cough and wheezing- I've severe asthma. On most days, I drink  a big glass of milk with 1/4 tsp of turmeric + 3 cloves garlic chopped fine, simmer for about 20-25 minutes, add little sugar and drink as hot as possible before going to bed. You will find that your cough, phlegm reduces a lot. ( don't worry, garlic smell won't be that bad, drink it as a medicine).

What is Gynaecological cancer?- Uterine, Vaginal, Vulva, Ovarian, Cervical cancers

Gynaecological cancer is group of cancers that affects a woman's reproductive organs, namely the cervix, uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina and vulva.

Common symptoms of gynaecology cancer
women suffering with gynaecology cancer, usually shows following symptoms initially. After noticing these symptoms, women should consult a gynaecological oncologist at its earliest.

-Unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge
-Vaginal bleeding during, after sexual intercourse or inter-menstrual bleeding
-White discharge in vagina
-Enlarged lymph nodes in the pelvic area
-Persistent abdominal swelling or bloating

Types of gynaecology cancer

1: Cervical cancer
Cervical cancer is caused by the presence and persistence of the Human Papiloma Virus (HPV), a very common sexually transmitted disease. Cervical cancer usually develops very slowly. It starts as a precancerous condition called dysplasia. This precancerous condition can be detected by a pap smear test. That is why it is so important for women to get regular Pap smears. Most women who are diagnosed with cervical cancer today have not had regular Pap smears or they have not followed up on abnormal Pap smear results.

2: Ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is cancer that starts in the ovaries. The ovaries are the female reproductive organs that produce eggs.

Most ovarian cancers are either ovarian epithelial carcinomas (cancer that begins in the cells on the surface of the ovary) or malignant germ cell tumours (cancer that begins in egg cells). Ovarian cancer is hard to detect early. Many times, women with ovarian cancer have no symptoms or just mild symptoms until the disease is in an advanced stage and hard to treat.

 3: Uterine cancer
The two common forms of uterine cancer are cervical (from the neck of the uterus) and endometrial (from the lining of the corpus or body of the uterus). The earliest stage of uterine cancer is called carcinoma in situ (cancer confined to its original site). If not detected and treated properly, cancer cells penetrate into deeper layers of the uterus, then spread to neighbouring organs such as the vagina, bladder or rectum and eventually metastasise to other parts of the body. At higher risk of cervical are women who have unusual bleeding or vaginal discharge between periods, had frequent sex before age of 20 or sex with many partners, and women with poor genital hygiene. The Pap test is highly accurate in detecting cervical cancer at an early stage. It can also show cell changes that could develop into cancer. The Pap test takes but a few minutes, it is completely painless, and can be done in the physicians' office.

 4: Vaginal cancer
Cancer of the vagina is a rare kind of cancer in women. In vaginal cancer, (malignant) cancer cells are found in the tissues of the vagina. There are many different types of cancer of the vagina squamous cell cancer (squamous carcinoma), adenocarcinoma, malignant mela-nomas and sarcomas.

 5: Vulva cancer
Vulva cancer is a rare type of cancer. It forms in a woman's external genitals called the vulva. The vulva includes the inner and outer lips of the vagina, the clitoris (sensitive tissue between the lips), and the opening of the vagina and its glands.
