Suffering from constipation? Try this salt water cleanse!

Constipation troubling you?

Constipation is a chronic problem and it is estimated that 20% of people worldwide suffer through this. Accompanied by an aching, bloated stomach and an uneasy feeling, it can also happen when you eat something that doesn’t suit your body or you eat something too quick. When the pressure builds up in the stomach, you can also suffer from trapped wind in different parts of your digestive system, causing a range of symptoms including burping and flatulence. An upset stomach can even swell up. So, naturally, when you are feeling uneasy and "full", having another meal would be the last thing on your mind. However, instead of clutching the pillbox, what we instead suggest you do is drink something very simple.

Do a salt water flush to clean your system!

Do you think salt water remedies are just limited to the days you suffer from a bad throat infection? Is it only useful to gargle and swish away the germs from your mouth? Think again. Having a big glass of saltwater when you are feeling constipated might be the much-needed cure to cleanse your digestive system and relieve symptoms of constipation. We tell you how.

Here's why

The active ingredients in the drink-salt and water are two of the most powerful and helpful ingredients you can find in the kitchen and carry so many benefits. In a chronic condition like this, salt water may hold the key to cleaning out your digestive system and carry a reaction, which can clean out of bowels, solving the problem from the root.

An intense salt water gargle like this works by starting a biochemical process in your body. Salt helps by detoxifying the body naturally and supplying good electrolytes in the system, which facilitate digestion and help eliminate waste. On the other hand, water in itself works by hydrating the body and pushing away the toxins. According to doctors, simply increasing your water intake or taking in more soothing drinks can also lessen down the symptoms of a bloated stomach.

Preparation

The salt water flush is most effective if you perform it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. If you do it later in the day, just make sure you haven’t eaten anything in the past one to two hours. Here is an easy preparation which can help.
In a big jar or bottle, add in about 1 litre of filtered water (it shouldn't be boiling, but heated up suitably). To this, start by adding 2-3 tablespoons of salt. Mix it vigorously and swirl it around, making sure that all granules get dissolved.

How to do a salt water flush

Once ready, take big sips of this solution and try to drink this mixture quickly. Ideally, aim at finishing this in the 10-minute window post making the drink so that it doesn't lose out on its taste.

Following this, you can also choose to massage your belly and abdomen in a gentle motion, which would further facilitate the relaxation inside the digestive and ease out the flow. This remedy can start working out in under 30 minutes and empty out the toxins and the waste from your body. You will feel cleansed in no time.

14 Uses For Rice That You Never Imagined

Rice is a staple, readily available food eaten the world over. In fact, there probably aren't many kitchen cupboards that don't house a couple of bags of this extremely useful basic food. Rice isn't just useful for cooking however, it has a number of fantastic properties that make it a fantastic problem solver around your home. Here are 14 ways you can use rice to solve common issues efficiently, and cheaply.

1. Stop Tools from Rusting
rice-uses
Rust happens due to metals being exposed to the moisture in oxygen over a long period of time. As we know, however, rice is great at soaking up spare water, so adding a few handfuls to your toolbox can keep your spanners and hammers dry and rust-free for longer.
2. Save Wet Electronics
If your phone, tablet or other small electronic device gets a bit wet - don't panic. Remove the battery if possible, and then place all wet pieces of the device in a bowl of rice and leave it over night. The ability of rice to soak up excess moisture, as long as the accident wasn't catastrophic, should be enough to save your precious electronic piece!

3. Clean Glass Bottles and Vases
rice-uses

This is a really simple trick that a lot of people don't think about, despite it solving a common issue that we all have - cleaning bottles and vases with narrow openings. How do you get a cloth, scrubber or your hand inside to scrub away grime? Well, rice might well be the solution you have been looking for! Pour a handful of dry rice in to the vase or bottle, and swill it around in slightly soapy water for a few minutes. That will remove the muck and grime so you can simply pour it out.
4. Soothe Your Muscles
If you have some aches and pains from a hard day on your feet, or even a more serious muscle strain, then harness the power of rice to ease your discomfort. Simply fill a clean sock with rice, while being careful to leave enough room for the rice to move around and contort to your body shape. Tie the end of the sock with string, microwave it for one minute (you can pop it back in for longer if you need it hotter) and voila, your hot compress is ready! This works so well because rice is great at maintaining heat.
5. Check if Oil Is Hot Enough
rice-uses
If you want to check whether your oil is hot enough before you use it for frying then just drop a few grains of rice into it. If the rice pops up to the surface and starts to cook, then you can be sure that your oil is good to go. This is actually a much more reliable gauge than a deep fry thermometer.
6. Ripen Fruit Quickly
Have you brought some fruit that's taking its time to ripen, but you want to eat it today? Speed up ripening time by popping the fruit in a container with a few handfuls of rice. This trick can work wonders really quickly, so be sure to check the container regularly to ensure the fruit doesn't over-ripen.
7. Clean Your Coffee and Spice Grinders
rice-uses
Spice and particularly coffee grinders have a horrible habit of picking up plenty of dirt, grease and dust over time. Rice, however, rises to the rescue once more, because if you run half a cup through the grinder, it will remove any grimy build ups. You will need to grind the rice until it is pulverized - and as an added bonus it will help sharpen the edges of the blades too.
8. Stop Salt from Clumping
If you live in a humid country, sticky salt can be a particularly annoying problem and may create a battle between you and the shaker to season your food (the battle usually ends with you having to take the lid off and sprinkle it with your fingers). There is a good reason why restaurants put grains of rice in with salt - because it solves the problem, while costing next to nothing!
9. Give Tarnished Silver a Shine
rice-uses
Keeping tarnish on your silver pieces to a minimum is a must if you want to avoid a hefty polishing job further down the line. You can help protect your cutlery and trinkets by keeping a small container of rice in the place where you store them. It will help draw the moisture away from the silver and keep it sparkling!
10. Make a Pet Toy
If your cat is taking too much of a liking to your precious ornaments, then keep him or her distracted with a rice toy. Make a small satchel from spare fabric, fill it up with a mixture of rice and catnip and sew it back up. Throw it to the cat and watch it get batted around your home or garden with contentment!
11. Make Your Skin Glow
Most us over-estimate the amount of water we need when cooking rice (too much is better than too little right?) Well, that leftover water doesn't need to be sent straight down the drain, because it can be put to very good use. Let it cool naturally, then place it in the fridge. Use the chilly water to wash your skin and leave it looking radiant. Brown rice gives best results because it's rich in vitamin E. You should use the rice-water within 3 days.
12. Make Rice Milk
Rice milk is a fantastic dairy alternative and it's really easy to make. All you need is a cup of rice, 4 cups of filtered water and a couple of pinches of salt. Blend the ingredients together for about 1 minute (or until smooth). Store in the fridge and enjoy your delicious milk, cold.
13. Keep Your Hands and Feet Warm in Winter
rice-uses
Cold hands and feet are one of the most maddening consequences of winter. If your home has non-carpeted sections of flooring, it can be really horrible to put your feet down during the coldest months, even if you are wearing socks. Never mind though, because you can harness the warming power of rice to help you! Making warming rice slippers and mittens is a great, fun craft project that could really help you this winter.
14. Keep Kids Entertained
Are the kids or grandkids at a loose end or driving you crazy? Not to worry, keep them entertained while also encouraging their creativity, with the use of rice. Take an empty container, ask the children to decorate it and then get them to fill it up with rice to make instant, DIY maracas! That will keep them entertained for a while.

Many Uses of Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide is an active agent composed of nothing more than water and oxygen. The oxidation process of this substance is incredibly good at killing disease organisms. In fact, it's considered to be one of the world's safest, all-natural, sanitizers. It literally "burns" micro-organisms through oxidation.
However, this material has so many other uses, it was really hard to pick only the best or most useful ones to share with you. So, I've done my best to highlight some of the nifty things you can do with it.
Tip: Make sure to only use the 3% solution for most of these items, and do not use it for internal purposes (do not swallow). Higher strength solutions such as 30% may cause damage if ingested.

1. Whiten your clothes with HP instead of bleach
hydrogen-peroxide
By adding a cup of HP to the white clothes in your laundry, you will see a marked improvement in how white they are. This is a great way of getting rid of really incessant stains such as blood or wine. For blood, just pour directly on the spot, wait a minute, and then rub and rinse under cold water.

2. Boost your immune system
Your body makes its own HP to battle infections. Our white blood cells, also known as Leukocytes, are the cells responsible for fighting disease, viruses, and infections, and some of them produce HP as their first form of attack and defense from toxins, infections, viruses, parasites and alike.

 3. Make a rejuvenating detox bath
Take 2 quarts of 3% HP and pour it into a tub of warm water. Get in and enjoy a good soak for about 30 minutes, adding hot water as needed. This will help skin blemishes, detox your body and rejuvenate you in a way you haven't felt before.

 4. Treat foot fungus
To use HP to cure your foot fungus, make a mixture of 50% HP and 50% water, and use a spray bottle to spritz the infected area (especially the toes) every night. Let it air dry.

 5. Treat Yeast Infections
Add 2 caps or 2 tablespoons of 3% HP to warm, distilled water once or twice a week and use it to treat the problematic area.

 6. Cleaning your toothbrush and other hygienic tools
There are many objects we use that need to be kept clean and sanitized, such as your toothbrush, or your child's retainer. Use a small amount of HP and dilute it with cold water to make a cleansing brew that will make sure they are clean and germ-free.
7. Treating exterior Infections
hydrogen-peroxide
If you have a cut that is infected, soak it in 3% HP for about 5-10 minutes, several times a day. HP is extremely good for treating infections, and you can also pour half a bottle of it in your bath to get rid of fungus, boils or any other skin infections.
Note: Do not leave on open wounds for a long time, use the solution and then wipe it off. HP can do tissue damage to open wounds if left on them for too long.

 8. Killing mite infections
Patients have reported that spraying HP on skin infected by tiny mites that bite and cause irritation, effectively kills them with incredible efficiency. Spray the area a few times, and wait a few minutes between applications.

 9. Taking care of your Sinus Infection
Add a tablespoon of 3% HP to 1 cup of (non-chlorinated) water, and use it as a nasal spray. You may have to adjust the amount of HP used according to the severity of the problem. Start with just the 1 spoon first.

10. Use as mouthwash and for tooth care
Take a capful or a tablespoon of 3% HP and hold it in your mouth for 10 minutes, once a day. Do not swallow, just spit it out. This will not only get rid of and prevent canker sores but will also whiten your teeth. It will also help in the event of a bad toothache you can't treat right away. 10 minutes several times a day will lessen the pain to a more manageable level.

It also makes for a great and inexpensive mouthwash. Again, make sure not to swallow and rinse your mouth with regular water after use.

 11. Lighten the color of your hair
HP is a bleaching agent and can be used to lighten your hair. Take a bottle of 3% HP and dilute some with water (50/50). Take a shower and, while the hair is still wet, spray it with the solution, then comb it through. It won't look like a burnt blonde color, but a more natural highlight for those with light brown, reddish or dirty blond hair. It is also a gradual change so you won't have a drastic new look on your hands.

 12. Clean your contact lenses
As a great disinfectant, due to its remarkable skill in breaking down the proteins that build up on the lens, HP can not only clean contact lenses but will also increase the level of comfort if you have sensitive eyes, removing those little biological irritants that most solutions don't clean.
13. Boosting your dishwasher
hydrogen-peroxide
Add about 2 oz. (60 ml) of 3% HP to your regular formula, and see how much cleaner the dishes are.

 14. Make sure your cooking surfaces are disease free
Fill a spray bottle with the 50/50 solution we've talked about (50% water 50% HP) and use it to spray your wooden cutting boards and cooking areas after you are done, to kill salmonella or any other bacteria that might be growing there. To be extra sure, use vinegar after the HP.

 15. Make a cheap and effective disinfectant
Make a cheap and very effective disinfectant agent that is non-toxic and can be used to disinfect fruits, vegetables, pet bowls, equipment and alike. Combining vinegar and HP has been proven in several studies to kill pretty much all Salmonella, Shigella, and E. coli bacteria. For this, prepare TWO spray bottles. Don't mix these two together. One will contain regular vinegar and the other regular hydrogen peroxide.
Tip: Light is bad for peroxide, rending it inactive. So the best thing will be to keep it covered and in the bottle.

16. Treating Mold
If you have those little spots appearing on your walls, probably from water damage, taking care of them is better done sooner than later, or they can become toxic and dangerous. Clean them with HP a few times a day to kill them off.

 17. Help sprouting seeds
If you're trying to get a seed to grow stronger, add an ounce (30 ml) of 3% HP to 1 pint of water and let the seeds soak in it overnight. Every time you rinse the seeds, add the same amount of HP. They will grow faster and healthier.

 18. Preparing Vegetables
Wash or soak vegetables in a full sink of cold water mixed with a 1/4 cup of 3% HP. Thin-skinned vegetables (such as lettuce) should soak for about 20 minutes, while thicker-skinned ones (such as cucumbers) can soak for about 30 minutes. Then drain, dry and refrigerate. This will not only kill all bacteria and neutralize chemicals but will also make sure they keep fresh in the refrigerator for longer.

5. Use it to relieve anxiety.
In India, honey has long been used to quell nervousness. So, to
alleviate symptoms of anxiety, try blending it with a calming herbal
tea before bed. For added benefits, try chamomile, fennel or
lavender. Meanwhile, to start your morning off on a calm note, add honey to oatmeal - oats are another fantastic, natural remedy to
 reduce stress.

Honey is also one of the ingredient in my cough syrup.
Honey can be used to substitute sugar in many recipes.
