9 Tips to Help You Get Out of Bed When You Just Don't Feel Like It

Nearly everyone needs a day or two to stay in bed and decompress from time to time, especially after a stressful day, or when you feel jet-lagged or ill. But anxiety, stress, insomnia, and depression can all demotivate and drain you of the energy to get out of your bed as well, and in these cases, your bed turns into a prison, and getting back on track may seem impossible. If you feel like this may be a problem for you, try a few or all of these 9 tips that all teach to focus on positivity and will help you gather the energy and motivation to get out of bed.

1. Think About the Daily Experiences That You Love

One of the worst morning habits ever is starting your day by pondering about all the dreaded tasks you have to accomplish. Instead, envision all the aspects of a productive day that you actually enjoy, be it the 5 minutes you spend every morning looking out your window and simply observing nature and the surroundings, the feeling of accomplishment you feel after you’ve exercised, or whatever is it you really enjoy: food, shopping, taking walks, gardening, you name it.

2. Remind Yourself of Your Victories

Negative thinking can often make us feel like we’re a failure and that we haven’t accomplished anything in life, which is just untrue. Try to remember a moment in life when you felt victorious and proud of yourself, like that time when you helped someone, the moment when you ran a marathon or that day when you’ve reached an important milestone in your career. These moments will remind you that you’re strong and capable, and you can realize your full potential again, even if you’re struggling at the moment.

3. Let the Light into Your Bedroom

Most living organisms on our planet follow the sun, and it just so happens that humans, unlike bats and other nocturnal creatures, feel more active when the surroundings are bright and full of light, and when the lights are dimmed and the curtains are closed, you’re more likely to feel sleepy or lazy. So open the curtains and let some light into your room first thing in the morning, or simply turn on the lights in the room immediately upon waking up, and you’ll have biology working with you and not against you.

4. Break Down Big Projects into Simpler Tasks

Have to do ALL the housework in one day? Well, if you put it that way, the mere thought of doing all the work may sound so overwhelming that it'll chase you right back into bed. It’s much better to think about a complex task as a set of easy and achievable steps. This way you won’t only be more organized, but you will also have a more positive attitude towards the tasks at hand. Knowing that your goal right now is to get out of bed and eat breakfast instead of having to do everything at once and feeling overwhelmed is liberating and motivating.

5. Reserve Some Time to Spend Outside

This may sound very naive to you at first, but spending time outside, be it reading a book, jogging or playing in the yard with the kids or grandkids can make a huge difference in how energized you feel. And this isn't speculation, it’s a scientific fact that spending time in green spaces can relieve you of stress and fatigue, although scientists aren’t quite sure why that is.

6. Plan Your Day

We recognize that it takes a specific type of person to have the patience to write down the majority of their meetings, people’s birthdays and get-togethers into a planner. Still, consider at least attempting to become that type of people person if you have trouble looking forward to your day, as seeing that you have a dinner with friends planned after a stressful day of work may just be the lift-me-up you need to get up and be productive.

7. Listen to Some Uplifting Tunes

The relationship between music and mood is a long-established one, that's exactly why we call some songs happy, whereas other ones may sound sad or angry to us. Some songs may even trigger warm and pleasant memories, so why not take advantage of the power of music and listen or dance along with a few songs that make you feel happy and positive?

8. Adopt a Pet

Having a pet equals happiness, that's all there is to it. And it doesn't matter if you're a cat person, a dog person or a parrot person, all of them cuddly, fluffy and feathered friends can lift your mood every day with their genuine affection towards you. Several studies even reported that having a pet can help people suffering from anxiety and stress. Some pets, such as dogs, can even urge you to get outside more often, so it's a double benefit. So if you feel like you can responsibly take care of a pet, don't hesitate and adopt one.

9. Share Your Experiences With Others

Your friends and family can help you get out of a rut without even knowing it. Make plans with a family member or friend for the evening to urge yourself to get outside, invite them over to make yourself tidy up the house and simply discuss your plans for the future with them to motivate yourself to accomplish them. Turn this into a habit, and won't only be able to spend more time with the people you like, but you will also make yourself more motivated.

World’s Leading Psychiatrist Reveals 22 Rules That Will Change Your Life For The Better

Improving our relationships, finding a better job, climbing up the social ladder, being happy and satisfied with our life is something that undoubtedly requires hard work and a lot of patience.  Yet, it’s what we all crave and want to achieve and one of the world’s leading psychiatrists reveals 22 rules that will help us do that.
Dr. Mikhail Litvak is a Russian psychologist, psychotherapist and the author of more than 30 books on the practical and popular psychology. According to him, it’s important to have a better insight into yourself and your surroundings as well. He also suggests that your happiness and both personal and professional success are determined by the way you live your life.
He lists down 22 rules that will help you succeed in life and enhance your relationships.
Here they are:
1. Don’t chase happiness because you won’t find it in other people and material things – it’s in YOU. Learn to develop your abilities and reflect back on your achievements because that’s the only road to happiness.

2. If you’re satisfied with yourself and you know you’re good, smart, and worthy, you won’t find it necessary that other people think or say the same things about you.

3. If you want something really bad, don’t wait around and don’t ask for someone’s permission to have or do it. Make sure you’re the one who have control over that.

4. A mature person possesses knowledge and knows how to put it in action. An immature one often has knowledge but doesn’t know how to wisely and effectively use it so as to achieve what they want and better themselves. That’s why, immature people criticize others and the mature ones don’t.

5. Make sure you plan your actions and organize your life well and happiness will follow as a result.
6. Nobody throws away another person from their life. They only move forward faster than others and those that are left behind consider themselves rejected.

7. It’s impossible to please every single person. Trying to do so will only make you feel uncomfortable and emotionally drained.

8. If someone did you a favor and helped you and they’re trying to make you feel guilty or grateful for that, make sure you pay off their services and let go of them.

9. Someone who doesn’t have any good qualities and accomplishments of their own will inevitably start criticizing and speaking bad things about others.
10. Depression is horrible, harmful, and hard, no doubt. Yet, it enables you to look into the depths of your soul, think about yourself, and realize the things that are pushing you forward or pulling you back.

11. Talking to your friends and all the people you hold dear is nice and fun. On the other hand, talking to your enemies is useful. It makes you more aware of your flaws and bad habits. It helps you learn things about yourself.

12. If you enjoy daydreaming, then make sure you only fantasize about goals and dreams that can be achieved. Keep your dreams real because otherwise, you’ll lose your focus and get frustrated if you fail to achieve an unrealistic goal.

13. Spending your time reading a good book is always better and more beneficial for you than talking with a shallow person.

14. Don’t dig into other people’s lives. Instead, dig into something you’ll benefit from, such as science and philosophy.

15. If you want to find out who your greatest enemy is, just look in the mirror. Once you face him/her, all the other enemies will be defeated as  well.
16. There will always be those who will criticize and insult you. Yet, you shouldn’t pay attention to it. Remember that the day you finally accomplish your goals, all the criticisms and insults won’t mean anything to you. They’ll simply vanish.

17. There’s only one reason why you should quit your job and end your relationships, be that emotional or otherwise, – the inability to grow personally and professionally.

18. Don’t be afraid to talk with people, especially when you meet someone for the first time. They might actually think favorably of you.

19. If you experience loneliness after a break – up, don’t take this as a negative thing. It means you’re growing emotionally and spiritually. Moreover, it enhances your productivity.

20. There’s no such thing as feminine or masculine logic. There’s only the ability to be wise and think rightly.

21. Your happiness grows when you share it with other people and make them happy. Share your joy with your enemies, too, and let them know you feel better than them.

22. Last but not least, learn to live for yourself by not feeling the need to constantly prove yourself to other people. Otherwise, you’ll spend your life living for others.
If you have anything else to add, feel free to do so. And remember sharing is caring!

Family Members Share a Smell

The natural smells of any two family members are similar and this is why the average person does not find family members attractive. According to a research conducted, subjects were more averse to family members' scents than to strangers' scents. This is Mother Nature's way of decreasing genetic mutations caused by inbreeding.

Diabetes Experts' Tips on Foot Care

The lifetime risk that a person with diabetes will develop a foot ulcer may be as high as
25%. To lower your chances of having this happen and to keep your feet in tiptop shape,
Dr. recommends taking these steps.

Take care. Wash feet daily with warm water and soap, dry well, then soften with lotion,
cream, or petroleum jelly, avoiding the areas between toes. Trim or file toenails into a
shape that's almost square but with no corner points to break skin or cause ingrown

Be sure the shoe fits. Indoors or out, wear properly fitting, closed-toe shoes to protect
feet from stubs and bangs. After age 40, when feet get wider, consider prescription
orthopedic footwear for better balance and stability. Never go barefoot.

Wear socks. Clean, light-colored, and lightly padded socks will show blood or draining
wounds so you can easily spot problems. Avoid slow-drying, 100% cotton socks in favor
of synthetic blends that wick moisture away and discourage fungus.

Fight fungus. Fungus, which thrives in moisture, can lead to infection. Where can you
pick up fungus? From carpet, showers, and gym floors. To help kill it, use medicated foot
powders like Tinactin or Micatin, and spray Lysol inside your athletic shoes.

Inspect daily. Take a good look at your feet every day. A recent study of male veterans
with diabetes found that more than half couldn't see or reach the bottom of their feet. If
you aren't flexible enough to see your soles, ask someone to help or use a magnifying
mirror to scout trouble spots like redness, bruises, and tiny punctures.

Shake things up. Give your shoes a good shake regularly. Seemingly harmless debris
like coins and pebbles can fall unnoticed into shoes, injuring feet.

Don't go to extremes. Insensitivity to temperature means you could accidentally
damage your feet, so avoid becoming too hot or too cold.
Heat can cause feet to swell and can burn skin, so don't soak your feet in hot water --
and stay away from hot-water bottles, heaters, and fireplaces, too. Wear insulated boots
and socks in very cold weather to help prevent frostbite.

Don't be callous. Don't attempt any kind of "surgery" by cutting your calluses yourself.
You risk getting ulcers or infections, so call your doctor for help.

Mark the calendar. Schedule regular foot exams with your doctor -- every few months,
or at least once a year -- to avoid emergencies later.

Managing Stress and Diabetes

Another critical aspect of diabetes management is staying stress-free. A little bit of
stress can send your blood sugar out of control.

Exercise. "It's a great stress management tool. Walk on a treadmill or get out and hoof it
in the fresh air."

Talk with a loved one. "Don't bottle it up inside. Find someone who will be sympathetic."

Get enough sleep. "You can't cope with stress very well if you're overtired. Get checked
if you think you have sleep apnea, which causes snoring and abnormal breathing during
snooze time."

Don't overeat. "Many times, people who are stressed like to eat because it's a comfort
for them. But overeating can cause high blood sugar, so if you must, snack on carrots or
rice cakes."
