11 Products to Remove Bad Odors

Excessive sweating can make us blush and feel ashamed. Products such as tomatoes, cabbage or coffee increase sweating and make the smell of the sweat stronger and sharper. But there are products that can decrease it. Here are products you should add to your diet in order to get rid of bad body odor and feel more confident.

1. Coconut oil
This is one of the most effective products which can give your body a pleasant smell. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties which constrain the growth of bacteria, while the lauric acid in its composition destroys the pungent odor. The sweat itself won't disappear. For best results, apply the oil to the armpit area 1-2 times per day after taking a shower.

2. Lemon and other citrus fruits
The antiseptic properties of lemon help to eliminate armpit odors. Lemon juice can also be used to control bad breath caused by harmful bacteria. If your stomach can handle it, drink a glass of lemon water in the morning, to control bad breath. Alternatively, you can also squeeze 1/2 of a lemon, and rub it underneath your feet or armpits, letting them dry and taking a shower.

3. Fenugreek seeds
The seeds of this plant act as an antioxidant. They eliminate toxins from the body and prevent infections that cause bad smells to spread. To get the desired result, dilute 1 teaspoon of seeds with boiled water and let it brew. This can be ingested after 6 to 8 hours. The seeds can also be added to tea.

4. Neem leaves
Neem is a valuable medicinal herb which has been used in Ayurvedic medicine. Its leaves have antifungal, antibacterial and antiseptic effects. Because of these things, neem promotes complete removal of bacteria and toxins, which cause unpleasant odors and reduces sweating. Neem leaves can be used in the same way as fenugreek seeds. Alternatively, you can also turn the powder from neem leaves to mush with the help of water, applying it to the armpits and leaving it there for a few minutes. Then rinse it off when taking a shower or a bath and perform this procedure three times per week for a better result.

5. Wheat-grass
Wheat-grass juice contains a large amount of protein, vitamin C, B12, B6, and folic acid. Furthermore, it is a powerful natural antioxidant that makes it very effective when fighting unnecessary body odor. You can either eat it fresh, about 40g per day, or as a powder, about 3g per day.

6. Parsley
This popular folk remedy for treating unpleasant body odor has a high content of chlorophyll and also has a deodorizing effect. The herb helps cleanse the body and fights bacteria that makes the body smell bad. Parsley can successfully fight sulfur compounds. You can either use parsley in salads or hot dishes or brew its dried stems and leaves to get rid of bad body odor.

7. Sage
Sage contains flavonoids such as apigenin, diosmetin, and luteolin. The composition of the plant also has vitamins, phytoncides, and other compounds. Sage has several healing properties including anti-inflammatory, astringent and antibacterial, thanks to its concentration of nutrients. The leaves and flowers of sage can help fight off sweating and can be used in infusions and decoctions. It can also be added to a bath and applied to the body. Still, you should be careful when using sage, its high concentration of biologically active substances can cause side effects.

8. Mint
Mint has a soothing property and has the ability to reduce the number of impulses sent to the sweat glands which makes the body emit a smaller amount of secretion. It can also be consumed fresh, dried or as an essential oil both on the inside and outside of the body. When used topically, mint has an anti-inflammatory effect which covers the body with a pleasant scent.

9. Cinnamon
Adding cinnamon to food is a good habit to adopt. It is best known for its ability to eliminate bad smells in the mouth. If it is consumed on a daily basis, it starts to influence the body's odor and helps get rid of excessive sweating.

10. Green tea
Green tea contains organic acids and tannin. It contains astringent properties that help fight excessive sweating and prevents the growth of bacteria. It is helpful for the feet, body and also the mouth. For best results, drink green tea daily. Apart from reducing sweating, this tea has a beneficial effect on metabolism and is recommended for anyone who wants to stay slim.

11. Rosemary
This herb is able to block the growth of bacteria that causes an unpleasant odor. It contains chlorophyll and menthos, and it has a deodorizing effect. A lack of zinc in the body causes excessive sweating. Rosemary contains zinc, a plant that compensates for the lack of this chemical element. You can take baths with rosemary or dilute a few drops of essential oil with 100g of water, then wipe the armpits with the solution.

Protect yourself from common monsoon diseases

The rainy season certainly brings respite from the sweltering heat, but this season is infamous for attacking one's immunity and making one prone to various infections. The season brings a host of infections right from mosquito-borne diseases like chikungunya, typhoid, and dengue to water-borne illnesses liked leptospirosis (a bacterial infection transmitted through urine or excreta of rats and cattle).
In such circumstances, it is important to boost your immune system by making healthier food choices.
Here are some common home remedies that can help you boost your immune system.

1) Turmeric

Antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory in nature, turmeric is an excellent spice to keep different types of infections at bay. This spice commonly found in every Indian household enhances the immune system and flushes out toxins from the body. Add this yellow spice in your food or you can even mix a pinch of turmeric in your milk to stay protected this rainy season.

2) Ginger

Ginger is another important spice that is popular for its diverse health benefits. The root is packed with essential nutrients that promote your immunity, supports digestion, helps with motion sickness and reduces pain.

3) Cinnamon

This aromatic spice has been valued for its medicinal properties for thousands of years. Cinnamon can cure a sore throat and prevent viral infections that are common during the monsoon season. This spice has also been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, which is the most common cause of premature deaths across the globe.

4) Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek seeds are packed with antioxidants and other essential nutrients that are good for the immune system. The spice keeps the immune system strong and helps to cut down water retention in the body.

5) Herbal tea or green tea

Having herbal teas or even green tea can help boost our immunity to stay fit in this season. Tea is loaded with antioxidants that help to keep cold, cough and other infections at bay. Sipping a warm cup of tea also helps soothe the throat and keep the tonsils in check.

6) Eat hot foods

Don't eat cold and stale food in this season as they make you prone to bacteria and infections. Having cold food can lead to stomach infections, loose bowels, and food poisoning. Drinking lukewarm water is also a good option for proper digestion of food. It helps to flush out the toxins from the body and cleanse your system.

7) Tips

Keep your surroundings clean
-Maintain good hygiene
-Take bath properly if you get drenched in the rain
-Do not eat street foods
