Versatile uses of CUCUMBER

Cucumber is a great vegetable not only for our body, home and garden too !

1)It helps to reduce cellulite and wrinkles-- take a few slices and rub them along the area where you want to treat for a few minutes. This works well because it contains pytochemical which tightens collagen and firms up the appearance of visible cellulite. It can also be used for, so use them as a part of regular moisturizing routine and also great for your eyes, helps to cool it by placing a slice of cucumber on your eyes for a few minutes.

2) they can make your stainless steel shine, by rubbing with a thick slice of cucumber over the pots you want to shine, by removing any sign of tarnish over the area and leave it sparkling clean, without harming your hands in anyway.

3) When you've gone for a trip and need to polish your shoes, take some slices of cucumber from your salad and use it to rub on your shoes, it will also leave your shoes with water repelling properties !

4) To fight condensation in your bathroom while you've a hot shower/ bath, rub the areas around with some cucumber slices, which will be affected by the steam from your bath. It will not only prevent from fogging up, but  also release some nice aroma which helps you to relax !

5) Helps to release the nasty headache from hangover and due to tension-as they're high in sugar, B Vitamins  and electrolytes, they help by replenishing the nutrients your body needs to fight hangovers and fight the splitting headache due to tension- eat half a cucumber before going to bed as usual,  by morning you'll be refreshed.

6) Fights off the urge to snack- for centuries it has been used by various people to stave off hunger, by eating some slices of cucumber and also will not make you feel guilty by snacking on cookies or chips or popcorn before your meal.

7) Helps to keep pests away from garden, by placing a few slices of cucumber in an old aluminum can/ tin, around your flower bed- it will help to keep to keep those caterpillars that eat the leaves of plants and flowers away, with the smell of cucumber and aluminum can or tin react as a repellent.

Health & general tips

Nails- if your nails break easily, massage them with warm olive oil before going to bed.

Shoe Polish- if the polish dries, no problem, add a few drips of olive oil to soften it. it'll be as good as new !

Perfume-  apply perfume at least 20 minutes before you leave for an outing & not just before you leave the house. That way, it'll have time to be absorbed in your body.

Grater- brush a little oil over your grater before grating cheese. it will be easier to clean.

Wrinkles, pimples, black-heads, dry skin- apply a paste of fenugreek leaves ( methi) every night & wash it off with warm water in the morning.

Eyebrow pencil- put them in the fridge overnight, it will sharpen more easily.

Hair- sprinkle a little cologne on your hairbrush for the scent to linger in your hair.

Puffiness under the eyes- to reduce puffiness, when you get up in the morning, cover them with pads dipped in a mixture of one pint of hot water & one tablespoon of salt.
