Is aspirin really effective on acne and scars?

Is aspirin really effective on acne and scars

Aspirin, which is acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) is a widely used medicine commonly used to relieve pain, fever or inflammation. Since it’s also helpful in preventing blood clots and strokes, aspirin is also used in the heart attack treatment. But apart from these therapeutic uses, people now have begun to use it for acne and scar treatment. This drug essentially consists of acetylsalicylic acid which is closely related to the anti-acne element salicylic acid. However salicylic acid has an amazing drying effect on the sebaceous secretions and the dead skin particles which aids in preventing and clearing the acne and its scars, many people claim the similar effect of aspirin on acne.

For acne treatment

The inflammatory acne exhibits symptoms like red, pussy, swollen blisters while the non inflammatory acne shows minor pimples, blackheads or white heads.

A study proved that aspirin was found competent in reducing allergic skin reactions, inflammation and pain due to it. Being a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, aspirin was found to be effective only on the inflammatory acne while it showed no extraordinary results for non-inflammatory acne. Hence people with such acne need to find other treatment which cleanses the blocked pores.

Side Effects

Since there is no great effect of this drug on the acne problem, rather an unprescribed use can lead to severe health complications. Hence one should opt for other acne forbidding options like retinoids, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide after consulting a dermatologist. Here are some reasons which proves the detrimental side of aspirin.

  • Aspirin can at times effectively lead to overdrying of the skin leading to increased amount of breakouts with redness and a lot of irritation.
  • This drug can make your facial skin even more sensitive towards the UV rays of the sun.
  • Intake of aspirin by breastfeeding or a pregnant woman can cause severe problems to the baby.
  • A person who’s allergic to nonsteroidal drugs can potentially harm himself by such a use of aspirin.
  • Asthamatic and people with rhinitis can face severe health problems.

Heart Healthy Loaded Health Drink!

There’s no need to explain why the heart is probably the most important and vital organ in our body - without this pump, and the blood vessels that are spread throughout our body, we simply could not exist. It's therefore surprising that many of us spare very little thought about heart health.

As a result, various heart diseases and problems that lead to clotted arteries are among the leading causes of death worldwide. So how can you avoid all those fatal problems? You can do your heart and arteries a great favor by preparing this special health drink, and you won’t have to drink more than a small amount every day for it to work its magic.

The benefits of this healthy drink’s ingredients:

Ginger – Ginger root, which is common in Eastern kitchens, but has gained many fans in the West, has considerable advantages for our cardiovascular health. Studies on this root have shown that it can lower cholesterol levels in the body, as well as prevent blood from clotting in the arteries and blocking them, thereby lowering blood pressure and expanding the arteries.

Garlic - Some people don’t really like garlic because of its strong smell or pungent taste, but one thing can’t be denied: it is one of the healthiest foods there is. Garlic also plays a large role in blood vessel health and functioning with its ability to prevent them from narrowing, thereby lowering blood pressure and preventing the formation of dangerous plaque in the arteries.

Lemon – it’s nearly impossible to concoct a healthy drink without lemon. In regards to our heart and blood vessels, lemon, which is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, helps clean various toxins from the bloodstream, regulates heart activity, contributes to lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels in the body, and reduces the risk of blood clots.

Apple cider vinegar - Apple cider vinegar has a scientifically proven effect on cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the body, and it can reduce them significantly. In addition, it has been found that this vinegar can protect the body from bad cholesterol (LDL) due to a compound called chloroauric acid found in it.

Vinegar also contributes to the burning of extra fat deposits in the body, thus improving circulation and reducing the pressure exerted on the arteries. Generally speaking, apple cider vinegar is a highly recommended ingredient with many health benefits.

Honey – when we’re sick, the first thing we reach for is tea with honey - it's a substance that acts not only as a sweetener, but it also enriches our body with a variety of health benefits that affect our heart. Honey is rich in antioxidants that help clean blood, regulate its flow, and prevent arterial contraction.

In addition, honey helps the body fight the various infections that occur in it, as well as high cholesterol levels - two health risks that may lead to the development of plaque in the blood vessels.

How to make this heart-healthy drink:

Ingredients:

• 1 cup ginger juice - Use a grater to prepare ginger pulp and then squeeze it into a glass

• 1 cup crushed garlic

• 1 cup lemon juice

• 1 cup apple cider vinegar

• 5 tablespoons honey

Instructions:

1. Mix all ingredients, except the honey, in a small pot and heat over medium heat for 30 minutes. Be sure to stir the mixture every few minutes.

2. Remove the mixture from the heat and wait for it to cool completely.

3. Add the honey, mix well and pour the drink into a clean bottle. The bottle can be kept in the refrigerator for up to two months.

Drink one teaspoon of the mixture every morning before eating or drinking. In a short time, you’ll feel its many active ingredients start to work and you’ll know that you are taking good care of your heart and blood vessels.
