How to Identify Cancerous Moles

We all know that too much unprotected exposure to the sun might lead to skin cancer that manifests itself on the skin, and might look like a mole or a beauty spot.  But do you know how to identify a mole that may be more than just a spot? It's never a bad idea to learn a few basics about the warning signs of a possibly cancerous mole.
Here you'll first find a quiz that will allow you to test your knowledge, followed by an explanation of how to identify them correctly. I hope you only ever need to use it to reassure yourselves it is a regular mole and nothing more.
1. Is this a mole or a cancerous tumor?

In order to easily identify the difference between moles and possible cancer tumors, you need to remember the A.B.C.D rules:
Asymmetry: If one side of the mole does not match the other and it has an uneven shape, be sure to have a doctor look at it.
Border: See if the edges of the mole are blurred, pigmented and look like the mole is out of its "imaginary outline". If this is the case, it might be cancer and you need to have a doctor examine it.

Color: If a mole is uneven in color and has many shades of black, brown, red or other colors, it is a clear sign that something might be wrong with it.
Diameter: Keep track and see if any moles you have show an increase in size and shape. Typically, melanomas are at least 6mm in diameter, about the same as a pencil.

A part from the A.B.C.D rules, also be on the lookout for any moles that grow higher and become elevated and ones that become firm. Remember this information and give yourself regular checkups, go see a doctor is you find anything suspicious. Early detection can save your life and the lives of your loved ones.

What causes migraine?

Adults who suffer from migraine are more likely to have
incomplete network of arteries supplying blood flow to the
brain, a new study has revealed.

The research found that variations in arterial anatomy lead
to asymmetries in cerebral blood flow that might contribute
to the process triggering migraines.

The arterial supply of blood to the brain is protected by a
series of connections between the major arteries, termed the
"circle of Willis."

People with migraine, particularly migraine with aura, are
more likely to be missing components of the circle of Willis.

Study's lead author, said that people with migraine actually
have differences in the structure of their blood vessels - this
is something you are born with.

"These differences seem to be associated with changes in
blood flow in the brain, and it's possible that these changes
may trigger migraine, which may explain why some people,
for instance, notice that dehydration triggers their
headaches," he said.

In a study of 170 people from three groups - a control group
with no headaches, those who had migraine with aura, and
those who had migraine without aura - the team found that
an incomplete circle of Willis was more common in people
with migraine with aura (73 percent) and migraine without
aura (67 percent), compared to a headache-free control
group (51 percent).

The team used magnetic resonance angiography to examine
blood vessel structure and a non-invasive magnetic
resonance imaging method , called Arterial
spin labelling (ASL), to measure changes in cerebral blood
flow.
