OFTEN HEART ATTACK SYMPTOMS ARE IGNORED FOR SOME DAYS
A heart attack normally gives symptoms before it occurs, but which are often confused for indigestion, fatigue and so on. Myocardial Infarction can suddenly come, but if we take care of the fore-warning symptoms, one can survive in many cases. Always learn to listen to your body, whenever warning signs come, pay heed and visit your physician or cardiologist for check-up before it is too late.
1) Extreme fatigue- even doing normal chores if one feels terribly exhausted without any other cause, it is time to go for check-up.

2) Feeling dizzy- Rarely one loses sleep due to dizziness. But, when this is accompanied with chest pain, then taking precaution is better, if one does have very low BP .
3) Swollen feet and ankles- This happens when the heart is unable to pump the blood.
4) Irregular heartbeat- As the heart beat is usually normal when a person is healthy, any change in the heartbeat, is not a very good sign, it is better to visit the cardiologist at the earliest.
5) Indigestion, nausea- these symptoms are usually associated with stomach upset, which most people think due to food that one has eaten. Stomach ache, heartburn may appear as normal symptoms, but better to seek medical advise at the earliest. Women suffer from such symptoms during heart attack more than men. ( My mother also had severe stomach pain for no known reason when she had the attack, which we at first ignored, till it became unbearable, when the Dr. came and diagnosed it as MI).6) Persistent cough- When a cough lingers for long and often with pink mucus, is a sign of damaged heart. Best consult your cardiologist to rule out the cause.
7) Sweating profusely without any reason- We normally sweat when it is hot and humid, but when a person sweats profusely in other normal condition, it is not a good sign. Best to consult your doctor at the earliest.
8) Discomfort and sharp pain in the chest- This sign should not be ignored. It can be an indication of a blocked blood vessel. Also, if the pain feels like an elephant sitting on one's chest, should never be ignored, as it is a clear sign of MI. At times, the pain, can spread to arms, jaw. Normally a sharp pain in the jaw comes at night and wakes you, it is a clear sign of a blocked artery. Rush to the nearest hospital at once.
