Turmeric has been used since centuries not just for adding colour to your dishes, but for its various medicinal properties. Indian women are known to use it for its properties in fighting pimples, clear skin and regular use also banishes facial air. That is the reason, why my mother, maternal grandmother had hardly any hair on their bodies, as they used to scrub their bodies well with turmeric and oil at least twice a week!

1. Turmeric And Milk
One of the simplest ways to use turmeric is by mixing it with milk. The turmeric will fight free radicals and the milk will cleanse the impurities from your skin. Using this mixture on a regular basis will make your skin look young, clean, and nourished.How To:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric and 1 tablespoon of milk in a bowl.
- With the tips of your fingers massage the mixture all over your face.
- Leave it on for 20 minutes until it is dry.
- Wash it off with water.
- Pat dry using a clean towel.
- Repeat this process about 3 times a week.
2. Turmeric And Oil
If the dry air is drawing out the moisture from your skin, leaving it flaky, coarse, and itchy, then a combination of turmeric and oil is perfect for your skin. Turmeric will make your skin look young and fresh, and the oil will retain its moisture and improve its elasticity. You can use olive oil, sunflower oil, or coconut oil.How To:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric with 1 tablespoon of oil in a bowl until you get a fine paste.
- Massage the mixture generously over your skin.
- Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Wash it off with warm water.
- Rinse your face again with cold water to tighten the pores.
- Repeat this process 3 times a week.
3. Turmeric, Avocado, And Yogurt
A combination of turmeric, avocado, and yogurt works well for all types of skin. Yogurt contains lactic acid which removes dead cells from your skin and helps lighten its color. The fatty acids present in avocado moisturizes and nourishes your skin. Turmeric will make your skin glow and look young.How To:
- Take 1/4 cups of avocado pulp.
- Mash it until you get a smooth paste.
- Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric and 1 tablespoon of yogurt.
- Mix them until you get a fine paste.
- Apply the pack evenly on your skin.
- Leave the pack on for 20 minutes.
- Wash it off with warm water and follow with cold water.
- Repeat this process once or twice a week.
4. Turmeric, Yogurt, And Gram Flour
Gram flour is a natural scrub. It will remove all the dead cells from your skin, leaving it smooth and supple. Yogurt will cleanse and moisturize your skin, and turmeric will help bring out its natural glow.How To:
- Mix 2 tablespoons of gram flour with 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric.
- Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt.
- Mix the ingredients until you get a smooth paste.
- With the tip of your fingers massage your skin using the paste.
- Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse it off with water.
- Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a week.
5. Turmeric And Lemon Juice
If your skin is tanned or has dark spots, using a combination of turmeric and lemon juice will help improve the color of your skin. Lemon juice contains citric acid, which gently bleaches your skin and turmeric imparts a natural glow. Using this mixture regularly will drastically improve your skin tone.How To:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric and 1/2 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice in a bowl.
- Apply this paste evenly on your face or areas with discoloration.
