A girl, who suffered from life-threatening seizures, cured by cannabis oil

A 12-year-old girl with a rare form of epilepsy has been cured from the life-threatening seizures after doctors treated her with cannabis oil.

According to a report , the 12-year-old girl  found herself unable to walk while participating in a gymnastics competition . Day after she suffered seizures and was rushed to the hospital and put into a medically induced coma to save her brain from damage.

Medical experts  diagnosed her with a rare epilepsy syndrome, known as febrile infection-related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES). The disease reportedly affects one in one million children, as per reports.


It is said that the condition causes her to have seizures continuously, which can lead to brain injury and even death. And doctors were not able to bring her out of the coma until they had an effective method to prevent her seizures.

For the first time, doctors sought permission to treat her with the marijuana derivative cannabidiol (CBD).

After 48 hours, her seizures stopped and she woke up.

CBD is a drug derived from cannabis, but it does not get an individual high.

According to a study , cannabidiol was found to halve seizures in adults and children suffering with epilepsy.
