ALL YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CINNAMON

Cinnamon is a spice taken from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum, that is used both in sweets & savoury foods. The flavour is cinnamon is due to an aromatic essential oil that makes uo 0.5 % to 1 % of its composition. This essential oil is prepared by roughly pounding the bark, macerating it is sea water & then quickly distilling the whole thing.

HEALTH BENEFITS-
cinnamon regulates blood sugar, making it a great choice for diabetics & hypoglycaemic people alike. It is said to reduce harmful LDl cholesterol, which may help to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It has natural anti-infectious compounds & has been effective against ulcer causing H.pylori bacteria & some more pathogens. It is a natural preservative. It contains fibre, calcium, iron & manganese, though in small amounts, due to small dose of ground cinnamon used.
