Most common reasons for a headache
Headaches can be exhausting and severe but most of the causes don't pose as a threat to life. Here are some of the most common reasons for a headache.
Tension: The most common reason for a headache is the mental baggage people carry around. Pressure from work and personal problems could lead to severe headaches, which is why it is important to take time for yourself and fit in some relaxing techniques. Yoga and meditation are popular methods.
Eye stress: Staring at the computer all day? Surrounded by dim or strong lighting? Any sort of stress on your eyes could lead to a headache.

Medical issues: A headache could be a symptom for several things. Ranging from eye sight problems to diabetes and blood pressure related issues to even life threatening tumors in the brain. If your headache is persistent and severe, it's time to get yourself checked.
Food: Not eating on time or skipping a meal not only builds up the acidity in your stomach but it could lead to a headache as well. For some people even eating certain types of fruits or vegetables could trigger a headache.
Weather: When some people enjoy the sudden changes in the weather there are several others who see the change as an invitation to a headache.
Certain smells: Powerful perfume, chemicals, paint, the smell of petrol, etc could trigger an instant headache for some people.
Smoking: Secondhand smoke is a cause for a headache among several people who are probably allergic to the fumes.
Hormones: Any imbalance or changes in your hormonal level could lead to a headache. Which is why several women experience bouts of headache before the onset of menses, during pregnancy and menopause.
