Celebrity Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar recently took to her Instagram handle and shared some essential tips to choose the right diet plan for weight loss.

Rujuta in the 15 minute long video spoke at length about the importance of choosing the right diet for weight loss. She said that the diet you choose not only determines how quickly you will lose weight, but will also have a great impact on your health. As per her, choosing a sustainable diet is best of all. It is good for your weight loss as well as health. She also underlined the difference between sustainable and unsustainable diets for all the people aiming to shed kilos.

Unsustainable diet

As per Rujuta, the first sign of an unsustainable diet is that it promises quick weight loss. We all know that weight loss is a time taking process and you have to have a realistic goal when aiming to lose weight.

She said that in an unsustainable diet, you can surely lose weight quickly in the beginning, but it will cost your health. Moreover, the weight loss is for the short-term. After a while you tend to gain the lost weight again.

The second common thing about unsustainable diet trends is that it always revolves around carbs, protein, fat, calories and mostly suggests eliminating a food group entirely from the diet. Rujuta added that the easy way to distinguish these diets is by their names. She said that these diets always come with fancy names like Keto, LCHF, Paleo, IF, Atkins and others.

Sustainable diets

The nutritionist asserted that a sustainable diet might be a little challenging as you might not see weight loss in the beginning, but in the long run, it is more effective. Sustainable diet first helps to improve your health, then you automatically start to lose weight. Weight loss with a sustainable diet is not for short term like the previous one.

Secondly, a sustainable diet focuses on more local or seasonal or traditional foods. You do not have to eliminate any food group or deprive yourself of them. Home-cooked food, seasonal specialities, traditional cooking methods all fall into this category.

Remember that your goal should not only be weight loss but to improve your health condition along with it. Most people gain kilos owing some underlying medical condition. First we should try to improve our health condition, which can only be achieved by following sustainable diet trends. So, choose wisely.
