Best Hospital For Knee Replacement in Coimbatore- Manu Hospital
Hi friends,
When I've to go for a major surgery, what I look for is how honest is the Dr., does he explain the problem to you. Does he see the X-ray, MRI films and tell you the problem, or go through the reports given by the radiologist. By experience, I can say that the Dr. who does the diagnosis by reading your x-ray or MRI films, is the Dr. who knows his subject well. As when I suffered from spinal problem, the radiologist who did my myelogram, didn't read the film properly and wrote nothing wrong with me. Due to the wrong report, 2 orthopedics whom I consulted only read the report and ultimately told me that I need psychiatric treatment ! But, my luck the physiotherapist with my name-sake told me, look out for a surgeon who can do your surgery quickly, only that will give you relief. Thanks to one of our friends, met an excellent surgeon, who saw that I was carrying a huge bag of x-rays and other diagnostic report. After asking me to lie down, and examining me, the first question he asked, since how long are you walking like this? I told the Dr. sorry, I don't understand, then he explained that my one shoulder is lower than the other ! Then he asked for my myelogram film which was taken 6 years before that, he said it clearly shows that you've prolapsed disc in L4-L5 and asked me, didn't the other orthopedic tell you that. Then he called a neurosurgeon, and showed him the film and asked him what is his diagnosis, it was the same as the surgeon. This was way back in 1988.
The reason, why I told you my story is, the orthopedic surgeon in Manu Hospital, saw my husband's MRI film and said the problem is severe lumbar stenosis. Surgery is the only cure. My husband said he is 76, had double bypass surgery, he said that doesn't matter, uncle, I'll make you walk after the surgery. It did happen. Of course, for spine, he called another college mate of his, who specialises in spine and he did the surgery.
Any doctor who knows to read your film, knows his subject, this Dr. Paari Selvaraj knows his subject, I can assure you all. He specialises in knee replacement, shoulder, wrist, ankle arthroscopy and also of hip joint replacement. The doctor and his team of nurses are very caring, greet you with a warm smile. That itself solves part of your problem.
This hospital located in Ramanathapuram, near Sungam bypass, is a relatively new, clean hospital. This hospital is run by a Dr. couple - Dr. Paari Selvaraj, orthopedic surgeon and Dr. K. Aarthy Selvaraj, OB-GYN. A very soft spoken couple. His wife is a specialist in IVF, a boon to those who long for a child. Thanks to her more than 11,000 couples are blessed with children.
What I like best about the Dr. is, after surgery, he doesn't want his patients to come back to the hospital for dressing, he sends his team to do the dressing at home, so the patients can avoid getting infection. This facility is available to one and all, irrespective of your economic condition. Dr. Paari, is well known among those not just in Coimbatore , but also its surrounding areas. One of the ladies in her 60s had her one knee replacement done 4 years ago. She was so much satisfied with her treatment, had her 2nd knee surgery done there now. She stays close to our complex.
What I like about this hospital is, it isn't large like some of the hospitals in the city. Hence, you get good attention of the doctors and the nurses. The view from the hospital is so serene, it calms your mind and body, as you can see the big lake, which reminds you of a river, you can see waves on it. There is good breeze blowing from the water body, sounds of birds chirping, really makes you feel that you're close to the nature. You may get a feeling that you're very far from a metropolis, as you don't hear the sound of the car honking. This silence is good to make you retrospect and meditate peacefully.
Unlike some big hospital in this city, which expects you to pay cash, this small hospital helped me paying with my credit card. Being a senior citizen, my husband had to undergo spinal surgery, I frankly told the Dr., you can take how much ever money you want as advance, but please don't make me run around, as I'm having difficulty walking. The Dr. said, don't worry, you just call the nurse and they'll attend to all your needs. That too now, the hospital is working with less staff due to COVID-19.
I can assure you that you can get the best treatment, as once diagnosis is right, you know the correct treatment will follow. You want to know more, you can Google search for reviews too and know the location and phone numbers of the hospital.
