SOME SIGNS OF HEART DISEASE WHICH ONE NORMALLY IGNORES
1) Sleep Apnea- When snoring gets broken with pauses while sleeping, it means brain isn't getting enough oxygen. Signals are sent to heart and blood vessels to work harder to keep the blood flow going. This may raise, your blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythm, stroke and heart failure. Luckily sleep apnea is treatable by wearing C-pap while sleeping.
2) Yellow-orange bumpy rashes- Very high triglycerides can make your skin break-up around your knuckles, toes and in your bottom. A lot of these fats in blood will lead to hardening of your arteries, which in turn leads to heart problems and strokes .
3) Poor grip- The strength of your grip tells about the strength of your heart. Research suggests that the ability to squeeze well means lower risk of heart disease. If you find it difficult to grasp objects, either you've heart problems or likely to develop one soon.Sadly improving the grip alone will not help to improve the heart condition.
4) Dark spots in mails- little dots of blood trapped in your nails, shows an infection in the lining of our heart or valves , known as endocarditis. Those with diabetes may also get this spots and are more prone to get heart problems and strokes.
5) Dizziness- is often the result of the heart not able to pump enough blood to the brain. Lightheadness could be a symptom of arrhythmia, abnormal heart rhythm.
6) Changes in skin colour- blue / gray fingers or toes could be due to poor circulation or blocked vessels. A lacy, mottled, purple pattern shows up when bits of built-up cholesterol plaques break off, then get stuck in small blood vessels. The bloody splotches just under the skin on the inside of your hands and the soles of your feet is sign of endocarditis.
7) Dark- velvety patches- these thick spots are normally found in skin folds of neck, armpits, groin, when the body isn't able to use insulin. The patches could have skin tags too. If you're not treated for type-2 diabetic, insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome, take help from your doctor to get treatment to control blood sugar and prevent heart diseases.
8) Breathlessness after work or hard to breathe while lying down, have chest pain, kindly call for emergency, to take care of your heart.
9) Swelling in your lower legs-this normally happens during pregnancy, but when one isn't pregnant and finds fluid collection when one stands or sits for long, it shows poor circulation, may be due to a clot also.Suppose the swelling comes suddenly, go for emergency check-up at once.
10) Fatigue- which can be due to various reasons. But when one has heart problems, it can leave one tired, as the heart isn't able to pump blood efficiently to all the parts of the body. It can also be due to other symptoms- anemia, cancer , depression, so best to rule out all the symptoms at the earliest.
