Cancer WARNING – your diabetes could actually be caused by this deadly tumour

Pancreatic cancer symptoms are caused by abnormal growth of cells in the pancreas, according to the study
.
In its early stages, signs of the cancer can be difficult to spot, and may not show any symptoms at all.
But, as the cancer starts to grow, signs and symptoms may begin to show.

Diabetes symptoms may be caused by pancreatic cancer, the study warned.

“In the early stages, a tumour in the pancreas doesn't usually cause any symptoms, which can make it difficult to diagnose,” it said.

“You may also develop symptoms of diabetes if you have pancreatic cancer, because it can produce chemicals that interfere with the normal effect of insulin.

“It's important to remember that these symptoms can be caused by many different conditions, and aren't usually the result of cancer.

“But you should contact your GP if you're concerned, or if these symptoms start suddenly.”
 

The first noticeable signs of pancreatic cancer include back pain, or a pain in the stomach.

The pain may come and go, but is usually worse when you’re lying down, or immediately after eating.

A yellowing of the skin could also be caused by the cancer. The condition, known as jaundice, could caused your urine to become a dark yellow colour.

Other signs of pancreatic cancer could include vomiting, a change to your bowel routine, indigestion, blood clots, or fever and shivering.

The exact cause of the cancer isn’t entirely understood, but those most at risk are people between the ages of 50 and 80.

About one in three cases of the cancer are caused by smoking, while 10 per cent of cases are inherited from the patient’s parents.A diet rich in red or processed meat could increase your chances of developing pancreatic cancer. About 10,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year in the UK.
