SOME SIMPLE WAYS TO KEEP COLD AT BAY FROM CHILDREN

Children catch cold and flu when they're quite young from the day care or from school. Precaution is better than sure, isn't it, so, the following small steps will go a long way to keep cold away as much as possible from kids and also us.

1) Do not sneeze into your hands, use a tissue or sneeze into the insides of your elbow, will prevent the virus from clinging on to our hands. As normally, children tend to hold our hands or we hold their hands more, without realising that we've not washed our hands. Make sure that you and your child washes hands often, before eating, before going to bed, after playing, so less chance of getting infected.

2) Cold normally enters the body through the eyes, nose . mouth and hands. So, best not to touch one's face or hands, especially when they've a cold.

3) Teach meditation and relaxation techniques to your child. Stress weakens the immune system. When the child is relaxed, then the body;s immune system is better off fighting against viruses. Teach your child to play , as it increases the lung power, do aerobic exercises, swimming, which increases the heart rate, thus helping the body to fight the virus.

4) Give your child fruits and vegetables containing various colours, as the phytochemicals will help them to fight virus, as it boosts their immune system naturally.
