There are Many Reasons Why You Should Clean Your Mattress!
You spend a lot of your time at home on
your mattress, but after a relatively short time, this place of
relaxation and slumber can become less than appealing, especially once
you know what hides within it. The average mattress can be home to
between 10,000 and 10,000,000 dust mites. These tiny bugs eat the dead
skin that falls off us, which on its own could be good, only that they
also defecate on your mattress, and their feces can cause asthma and
allergic rhinitis.
If you don’t like sharing your bed with thousands of unwanted guests, here's how to quickly clean and freshen up your mattress.
What you need
Baking soda
A sealable jar
Lavender essential oil
A sieve
A vacuum cleaner
Preparation
Pour 1 cup of baking soda into the jar.
Add 4-5 drops of the lavender oil.
Seal the jar and shake well.
Strip your bed from all bedding and pillows.
Method
1. Get the sieve and start pouring the jar’s contents onto it – make
sure you’re over the mattress.
2. Get the mix into all the mattress' nooks and crannies and leave it
there for at least one hour – during this time, the baking soda will
draw out moisture, filth, dead skin, and unpleasant odors.
3. Now it’s time to vacuum it all. Make sure you get all of the baking
soda off the mattress.
4. Repeat on the other side of the mattress.
Now that you’re done, your mattress is clean, deodorized, and most
importantly – free of dust mites!
