5 ways to get rid of stinky and sweaty feet in summer

Get rid of those stinky feet!
Sweating profusely in summers is not uncommon. But the real problem is sweaty feet, especially when it starts stinking. Whether you are wearing flip-flops or sandals, you constantly feel slippery, which becomes frustrating and embarrassing.

Have you ever wondered why your feet sweat so much? Surprisingly, our feet have more sweat glands than any other part of our body. When the temperature is hot outside, your feet sweat more  to release moisture that helps to cool down your body. In a way, it is good for us, but it can be embarrassing when it starts to stink. Here are a few things that you can do to avoid the situation.

Wear the right shoes
Summers are all about trendy shoes and slippers. After spending months wearing shoes and boots during the cold weather, we finally get a chance to flaunt the perfectly manicured feet. But the trendy footwear can make you sweat excessively. Avoid strappy leather sandals, rubber sneakers and plastic slip-on. Opt for sandals that are not too tight and are made using breathable material.

Stay hydrated
Drinking ample amount of water every day is essential for us. It is more important in summer as due to hot weather as we sweat a lot and the risk of dehydration is quite high. So, drinking plenty of water is another way to reduce the likelihood of sweaty feet. It helps to regulate the body's temperature and you eventually sweat less.

Wash your feet properly with daily
Even if you have taken a shower in the morning, always wash your feet with soap and water after you remove your footwear at the end of the day. Cleaning your feet twice daily will prevent the growth of bacteria that makes your feet smell.

Sprinkle foot powder
Sprinkling some foot powder before wearing your shoes or footwear will absorb the moisture and will keep your feet dry. You can easily buy any over-the-counter foot powder. A mixture of dry baking soda and corn starch can also work as a foot powder.

Carry some back-up socks
Wear socks that are breathable and can easily absorb moisture. Opt for socks made up of wool and synthetic blend. Even cotton socks are not effective in keeping your feet dry in the hot weather. You can carry an extra pair of socks with yourself and if you feel that your feet stink a lot.
