5 foods that can get rid of bloated bellies

Having a bloated stomach can not only make you feel full, tight or uneasy, it can also lead to discomfort, pain, perhaps even some embarrassing moments in front of people.

The issue with bloating, gassiness, abdominal discomfort is that they’re not limited to the occasional feast. Stomach bloating is one of the most common problems nowadays and it’s been called an epidemic.

There are many things that can cause bloating, including build-up of excess gas, water retention, indigestion, anxiety, etc. However it’s often linked to what and how you eat. So let’s look at some foods that can deal with this common condition effectively:

Ginger

Ginger is one of the most common home remedies that have been used to treat a variety of conditions, including uncomfortable tummies and digestive problems. Ginger contains two chemicals - gingerols and shogaols - that act as muscle relaxants, allowing the body to pass gas more easily.

Garlic

Garlic offers a range of health benefits – from lowering bad cholesterol level to controlling weight gain. This wonder herb also contains properties that stimulate the gastric system and help to relieve bloating. Studies have shown that garlic improves digestion.

Bananas

Bananas are packed with potassium that can help prevent water retention by regulating sodium levels in your body, which ultimately helps in reducing salt-induced bloating.

Fennel seeds

Fennel seeds contain antioxidants that help treat many digestive problems, including stomach gas and bloating. Regular consumption of fennel seeds or fennel seed tea has been proven effective for many people with more serious digestive disorders like Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS. Chewing half a teaspoon of fennel seeds is the simplest way to prevent or treat various digestive problems.

Black pepper

Black pepper increases the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which in turn helps with digestion and relieves issues like bloating, indigestion, flatulence, and constipation.
