SIMPLE WAYS TO CARE FOR EYES

It is something quite common with man, as long as he has something, he never realizes its worth. Only when we lose something, we know its true worth. It is the same thing with our eyes, which we take for granted. Those who don't have vision, know what they lose without their eyes. Always take good care of all that God has given you. It is our eyes, that not only makes us beautiful, makes us learn and appreciate nature. 

Some minor things to help us take care of our eyes-

1) Eat foods rich in beta-carotene- All those vegetables and fruits which are orange or bright yellow in colour are good sources of beta-carotene, which is good for eye-sight.

2) Regular check-up- Those who are diabetics, should have regular eye-check-ups, to make sure that you don't have glaucoma. For that one should maintain their ideal body weight, keep their blood pressure and blood sugar under control. When you go out in the bright sunlight, make sure to protect your eyes with sunglasses or carry an umbrella or wear wide-rimmed caps. Also, those who go for swimming in public places, wear protective glasses.

3) Quit smoking- Smoking is  harmful to our eyes, as much as it is harmful to our lungs and other organs too.Research has shown that smoking causes severe macular degeneration, cataract, optic nerve damage and ultimately to permanent blindness.

4) Have regular eye check-ups. Never put anything in your eyes without ophthalmologist's advise.When anything goes into the eyes, never rub, as it only causes more damage, just close your eyes, then smaller particles, will normally come to the corner and you can remove it. But, if something very irritating once it enters your eyes, visit the Ophthalmologist at once, by keeping your eyes covered.

Like everything else, one has to be grateful to all that God has bestowed us and we ought to take proper care of it. Remember once we're dead, our eyes can be donated and it can help 2 people to see. Enroll for eye donation, someone will thank you for it.
