Protein Bars Can Raise Your Cholesterol Levels

Are you switching the protein diet with protein bars? If you are doing it so then, you are harming your body. A recent study has revealed that protein bars contain as much fat as a hamburger does.
The protein bars and shakes should not be used to supplement a healthy lifestyle on a regular basis, a Dr. said. The protein bars can be useful for health if eaten in a balanced way but if you do not check the diet- What are you eating? How much are you eating? Then this health snack can do harm to your body instead of good, according to the researchers.

So if you are eating protein bars as the primary food, then you will end up becoming obese in the end. Protein bars are filled with ingredients which can raise your cholesterol levels high. These bars contain oils and fats, preservatives, thickeners & artificial colours and sweeteners. These components increase the fat instead of muscle benefits in the person.

Also, the bars usually have the high sugar components, so it also adds the extra calories in your diet. For the research, the researchers analysed protein, carbohydrate, fat, and sugar content in above 50 bars. The results revealed that the fat content was same as much a hamburger contains.

Meanwhile, the bars do have the amount of protein which is required to repair and build the muscles but at the same time bars do not have the amino acids or lack the most of amino acids which are vital for muscle building. So it is essential to balance the diet and use the protein bars wisely.

Generally, your basic need of protein is 0.8-gram per kilogram of your weight. For example- if your body weight is 44kg then your daily requirement of protein intake is 35.2 grams. On an average, a man requires 56 grams and a woman needs 46 grams of protein per day.

Therefore, make sure you include the healthy sources of protein in your diets such as white meat, seafood, milk, eggs, pork, beans, soy and leaf beans. Also, if you want to eat protein bars then make sure you balance out the other elements of carbohydrates, fat and minerals etc.
