NATURAL REMEDIES TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE
Many of us suffer from hypertension, which means having high blood pressure. As, most of us lead a very hectic life, with lots of tension at work, home, it elevates our blood pressure. Normally, when we visit the physician, we're asked to go through series of tests- blood tests, ECG and so on, then prescribed a number of medications, which may help to lower the blood pressure, but in the long run, all those chemicals that we take in as medications, affects our kidneys. So, a simple easy to follow remedy to lower your blood pressure.
!) Reduce salt intake- Most of us consume high amount of salt not only in our food preparations, but also along with other snacks, pickles that we consume everyday, as salt is used as a preservative. You can substitute for salt with thyme, it will improve the taste and also help to lower your BP.
2)Hibiscus, is a common plant, with nice flowers, which are also used to have nice long hair. But it is a known diuretic, which lowers the sodium in your body, thus decreasing the pressure in your arteries. The flower acts in the same way as ACE ( angiotensin converting enzyme) drugs. But this flower seems more effective than the drugs too.
Yo make hibiscus juice
1-2 tsp of dried hibiscus
hot water 1 cup
lemon juice or honey to taste
Method
boil water, add hibiscus, let it seep for 5 minutes. Add honey or lime juice to taste and drink this 2-3 times daily. This can be had cold too during summer days to quench your thirst and lower your BP at the same time.
3) Coconut water- It is the most pure water, which nature has provided us. Coconut water contains potassium and magnesium which helps to regulate muscle function, thus helping the heart, which is a big muscle in itself ! There is no cooking or addition of any other flavouring to drink this nature's delight. It can be drunk twice a day to get maximum benefits for those suffering from hypertension.
4) Fish oil, is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. Studies have shown that it helps in lowering blood pressure, reduces triglycerides and increases HDL , good cholesterol. Heart transplant patients have been given fish oil to reduce the risk of hypertension. It can be mixed with orange juice and taken as per the direction given in the bottle.
