HOME REMEDIES FOR LOOSE MOTIONS
Normally when we've loose motions, we're told to have thin kanji( porridge) or rice and curd or plain bread toast ! But, when I did a course in Nutrition and health, learnt for quicker recovery when you've loose motions or fever, is it to eat normal home food, whatever you want to it, as long as it isn't too oily or spicy. One, this helps the person to recover faster, the person doesn't loose the taste when they've fever also. I've tried it and recovered quickly when I had loose motions and fever by following this. There are other options too, like having
1) Buttermilk with sat-isabgul - this when one mixes and drinks, stops the loose motions, as it has lots of fibre ! Drinking buttermilk with little salt also soothes the stomach.
2) Drink lime juice with salt and sugar, as it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps in cleansing the stomach. Keep sipping on it often, instead of gulping down the full glass, as it will help to replenish the lost fluids and at the same time flush out the toxins from the stomach.
3) Fenugreek seeds or methi seeds has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. You mix a tablespoon of the dried methi seeds by soaking it over-night and drinking it along with the seeds in the morning on empty stomach for 3-4 days. Though it tastes bitter, as most tablets are also bitter, but helps to solve the problem of loose motions.
4) Take enough rest by listening to your body, whenever it says lie down, irrespective of whatever time of the day it may be, just sleep, it will help you to bounce back quickly, as the body has lost its nutrients, so it needs good rest.
5) Be sure to take enough fluids, can be just plain clean water with salt and sugar, buttermilk, lime juice, to give you the lost electrolytes from your body and making sure that you don't get dehydrated. Don't drink anything hot like tea or coffee, as it make you run to the bathroom !
