8 signs of bad digestive health

 Unhealthy gut

The digestive system says a lot about our general health. When it

isn't functioning properly, it can affect our entire body. Here are 8

common signs that show that we may have an unhealthy

digestive system.

 â€‹Persistent acidity

Feeling a burning sensation in the chest or throat after eating

could be a sign of acidity. This occurs when stomach acid flows

back into the oesophagus. Frequent acidity can indicate an

imbalance in our digestive system.

Excessive gas

While everyone experiences gas, excessive or chronic gas can be

a sign of digestive trouble. It might be due to the food you're

eating, or it could be a result of how your body breaks down

certain foods.

Bloating

Feeling bloated, especially after meals, can be uncomfortable and

is a common sign of an unhealthy digestive system. Bloating

occurs when our stomach feels full and tight due to gas or other

digestive disturbances.

Chronic constipation

Struggling to have regular bowel movements? Chronic

constipation is a clear sign that your digestive system isn't

working efficiently. It can be caused by a lack of fiber in the diet,

dehydration, or a sedentary lifestyle.

Frequent diarrhea

On the opposite end of the spectrum, frequent diarrhea can be a

sign of digestive distress. This condition involves having loose,

watery stools multiple times a day and can lead to dehydration

and nutrient loss.

Acid reflux

If someone often experiences a sour taste in their mouth or feels

a burning in their chest after meals, they might be suffering from

acid reflux. This condition happens when stomach acid backs up

into your oesophagus.

Food intolerance

Experiencing discomfort or other symptoms after eating certain

foods can show food intolerance. Unlike food allergies,

intolerance do not involve the immune system but can cause

digestive problems like gas, bloating, and diarrhea.

Stomach pain

Specific pain in the stomach area can be a sign of various

digestive issues, from mild conditions like gas and indigestion to

more serious problems like ulcers or gallstones.
