Most heart attacks occur as a result of coronary artery disease (CHD). But there are certain factors that can increase your risk of developing a heart attack. One of the biggest factors that contribute to this is a lack of commitment to a heart healthy lifestyle. If you can make a few changes to your lifestyle that promotes a longer and healthier life, you can also dramatically reduce or almost wipe out your chances of developing a heart attack or stroke.

Smoking

Smoking affects the function of your heart, and the structure and function of your blood vessels, thereby increasing your risk of a heart attack.

Drinking too much
