Valve made from a cow's heart saves an 81-year-old woman

In a major breakthrough, an 81-year-old woman in Chennai was saved using a heart valve made from a cow's heart.The patient is from Hyderabad and was suffering from a severe heart disease. She had undergone a valve replacement surgery in the past and but her condition got worse early in 2015.

According to reports, the procedure was a difficult one as the woman had also undergone treatment for breast cancer a few years ago.

The novel surgery, which lasted for over three hours, was conducted at the Frontier Lifeline Hospital. The doctors replaced the diseased valve which had narrowed over the years with a new one. her blood pressure was also not stable.
According to reports, the procedure was a difficult one as the woman had also undergone treatment for breast cancer a few years ago.
