7 Healthy Food Combinations
Some foods are synonymous with a particular
nutritional value, like cheese with calcium, bananas with potassium
etc. Knowing as many of these as you can is undoubtedly useful. However,
by itself it’s not enough, since many important nutrients cannot be
fully enjoyed by our bodies without other nutrients being absorbed at
the same time. For this reason, we’ve put together a list of foods that
should be eaten in pairs to maximize the health benefits your body will
receive from them.
Here, being Indian, I'ld prefer to add amla/ Indian gooseberry along with spinach, as it is the richest source of Vitamin C, as just one amla supplies enough Vitamin C for the day. You can amla pickle, raita- i.e., amla ground with green chilies and salt and mixed with curd, is an excellent to the combo of South Indian Palak kuttu- i.e. palak cooked with dal- arhar, moong dal, ground with coconut, jeera/ cumin, red/ green chilies. Amla murabba is also available, i.e. gooseberry is soaked in sugar syrup and dried.
