Licorice in the Fight Against Diabetes and Atherosclerosis
The diabetes epidemic that's spreading
throughout the world is far more than mere sensationalist journalism. In
2015, 30.3 million Americans had diabetes, and 84.1 million had
prediabetes. So, are we condemned to live in this difficult situation,
which is only getting worse? Can nothing be done against diabetes that
exacts a high price and shortens lifespan by at least 12 years? Although
we often rely on pharmaceutical medications to treat diabetes, they do
not prevent the development of the disease and also have many side
effects. However, there is an effective and natural substitute for the
same drugs, which can also inhibit the development of the disease and
also help to treat its symptoms and almost completely alleviate them -
and that is licorice root.
Effect of licorice root on blood sugar
We can see evidence from the findings of a study published in 2011, in
which researchers gave diabetes-inflicted rates a dose of licorice root
for 60 days. The results showed that licorice root extract lowered blood
sugar in the mice, restored renal function, and reduced their weight
loss process; In addition, the extract renewed the antioxidant activity
of the rats' kidneys, effectively reversing all the destructive effects
of diabetes on their bodies, and in effect bringing about its recovery.
All these diagnoses have led researchers to conclude that it is quite
possible that licorice root extract can produce a similar effect on
people with diabetes and cause a significant reduction in blood sugar
levels due to its antioxidant and hyperglycemic properties.
How the active ingredients in the licorice
root affect diabetes patients
A confirmation of the researchers' hypothesis that licorice root is
beneficial to the treatment of diabetes in humans came not long after.
In 2012, renowned experts from the Max Planck Institute for Molecular
Genetics in Berlin reported that they found active substances called
amorfrutins, which don't only regulate and reduce blood sugar levels,
but are also highly effective anti-inflammatories, and therefore good
for preventing fatty liver disease - which is very common is caused,
among other things, by cases of malnutrition. The amorfrutin molecules
bind to receptors in the nucleus of the cell and have a beneficial
effect on the concentration of glucose and its fatty acids, thereby
lowering their level and preventing the risk of developing insulin
resistance in the body, which is one of the main causes of diabetes
development.
This is excellent news for diabetics
everywhere, as well as for many others at risk for developing the
disease because it contains a scientific news about a natural substance
with clear and proven healing capabilities. In addition, there is
another group of people with an intense and no less severe disease -
atherosclerosis - for which licorice root may also be a suitable natural
treatment.
What is the relationship between
atherosclerosis, diabetes, and licorice?
Unfortunately, atherosclerosis, the chronic disease that affects the
inside of the arteries and brings them to the point of complete and
fatal blockage, is a particularly common disease. Many people go to the
hospital as a result of heart attacks. You may be surprised to learn,
but it's been shown that there is a link between atherosclerosis and
type 2 diabetes and that those with the latter may have symptoms and
appearances of the first earlier and more severely than those who do
not.
However, despite the fact that this data is negative and stressful, a
positive conclusion can be drawn from it. As the study showed, licorice
root has medical abilities and qualities that can be used to treat and
help diabetics. A study conducted by Israeli scientists from the
Technion, Haifa University and the Rambam Medical Center found that for
patients with hypercholesterolemia, a condition that leads to a high
incidence of plaque, no more than 0.2 grams per day of licorice root
extract for 12 months, can lead to a significant reduction in total
cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and blood pressure, so that even for the
reduction of atherosclerosis and other heart problems, licorice makes a
significant contribution.
Along with all these wonderful health
benefits, scientists and researchers make it clear that drinking
licorice tea or eating licorice root is simply not enough to activate
its anti-diabetic and anti-atherosclerosis abilities - because there
isn’t enough of the active ingredient in these things. So, what can you
do to enjoy all these health benefits? The solution is simple and lies
in one incredibly effective product: the original licorice dietary
supplement.
What is the original licorice?
It is a dietary supplement in which the active ingredient, a powerful
and effective antioxidant, is extracted from the licorice root in the
process of alcohol extraction - the only way to distill the active
substance at the root and maintain its high efficiency. This wonderful
product has safety clearance from all responsible parties, including the
Food and Drug Administration and the European GMP - with proven
abilities to prevent excessive oxidation, lowering blood pressure by 10%
to 15%, reducing LDL oxidation by 55%, in preventing damage caused by
the disease to the nervous system (diabetic neuropathy) which causes
pain in the limbs and ultimately in the treatment and prevention of type
2 diabetes and atherosclerosis, as well as the damage they cause to the
body. Taking the supplement regularly and daily can help you to enjoy
the health benefits of licorice root, prevent dangerous diseases and
strengthen your body in a variety of ways - all in a natural and safe
way!
