HEALTH BENEFITS OF FENUGREEK OR METHI SEEDS
Methi seeds are used everyday in Indian kitchen in some form or another. It is used in making sambar, rasam, pickles and for health benefits read below-
1)Methi seeds prevent the absorption of cholesterol and help in lowering blood cholesterol levels. It also reduces the risk of heart diseases.
2)These seeds contain amino acid which controls blood sugar levels & since it is rich in fibre, it aids digestion and flushes out harmful toxins.
3)Chewing soaked methi seeds every morning on an empty stomach can help you in losing weight.
4) Mixing boiled methi seeds in coconut oil overnight and applying in your hair will help you deal with hair fall, dandruff and thinning of hair.
5) Mixing 1/2 teaspoon of methi powder with equal quantities of dry ginger and turmeric powders with little water and gulping it down early morning on empty stomach also reduces your arthritis, joint pain and inflammation, as all these have anti-inflammatory properties.
Use it daily not for just flavouring your dishes and pickles, but also for various health benefits. Both my husband and myself, have the last no. 5 concoction each morning, it has helped to reduce my joint pain, I give hubby for his diabetes and for cholesterol.
